I also liked season 4May 4, 2017 at 8:47 pm #1202084637
Season 4 wasn’t bad really, but it wasn’t really good either. I probably like it a little more than season 3, but I had more hate for it when watching it just because I was pretty fed up with the show by then, while with season 3 I was more forgiving because I really liked the first two seasons.May 5, 2017 at 9:11 am #1202085010
I thought season 4 was a thrilling return to form for the show. Not perfect, but certainly compelling. Can’t wait for season 5 to drop!May 8, 2017 at 9:37 pm #1202087752
This review is mixed, but Travers seems like his is criticizing American more than he is the show.May 8, 2017 at 10:03 pm #1202087761
That review is based off of one episode. Not that I am expecting great reviews anyway, given that this fell out of favour with critics a while back and comebacks are almost impossible with them.May 8, 2017 at 10:06 pm #1202087763
I hate how basically every single show has to somehow be compared to America’s politics, I mean with hoc it’s definitely inevitable but I agree with Hunter that he seems to be criticizing trump more than anything else.May 8, 2017 at 11:46 pm #1202087848
I really liked season 4 and Robin Wright was brilliant. She really should’ve won and Emmy by now (Spacey as well)… Here’s hoping they will both take it this year.
I was also at the screening of the first episode tonight (which got a very good response from the industry crowd~ Emmy voters and Guild voters) and it was quite good. Spacey really had some meaty stuff too. Yes, you can compare it to today’s politics (as with so many shows), but it really is so much more than that. At its heart this show is so Shakespearean and season 5 looks to be just as strong as before. Cant wait to see where it goes.May 29, 2017 at 6:21 am #1202105088

How? I thought the first episode was alright, but most of the stuff going on had to do with stuff from last season I couldn’t remember. The only big complaint I have is that the realism is completely gone even for this show, early on in the show Francis had to make clever maneuvers at every step, make careful plans in order to get stuff done, that was the show really, not he can just yell really loudly. If Spacey wasn’t so great, a lot of these scenes like the one in the house would come off as laughable. Also, no matter how bad this show might get, Robin Wright will be emmy worthy. Spacey is great, but I’ve always felt like Wright has been the true standout from the beginning.
