I’ll second the Jayne Atkinson praise. I love that they’ve made her such a major character, and I really hope this isn’t the last we see of her after being pushed. I can imagine she would have a lot of good material next year if she were to try and get revenge on Frank, then maybe she could get a nod.

I can see why people are not as high on House of Cards this season as they’ve previously been. The things that are happening during the Trump administration are mirroring the things that are happening in the fictional Underwood administration.

The political environment we’re in on the show is so close to what’s happening in real life that it’s unsettling, so I can see why people are turned off.

More like the other way around.

That’s not the only reason why many are turned off: the show is BAD on its own and maybe worse than ever.

House of Cards writers are too short on imagination to replicate the real world. This season of HoC is a bunch of complete nonsense not base on reality.

Four episodes into the season now. I’d agree that an element of surprise is lost somehow at this point in its run, and so much of that is centered around the current political climate. Of course Frank had that ICO/ISIS guy in custody all along. Voter suppression? How quaint and 2016 of them. It’s playing as almost Trump-lite. I already miss Molly Parker and Mahershala Ali. Joel Kinnaman is as awful and unnatural as ever here. Anxiously awaiting Patricia Clarkson’s arrival and slightly underwhelmed so far by Campbell Scott’s. The premiere was a great re-introduction into the series after a long hiatus, and I still see voters affection as being strong with the actors branch at least for continued Emmy nominations for Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. It looks like Paul Sparks will have as much screentime this season as Michael Kelly. I’d love to see Neve Campbell make a legitimate run in supporting actress in a drama series. Back to it!

Don’t forget that Frank is paranoid about leaks, just like a certain someone that we know.

I’ve watched eight episodes and don’t have the urge to watch another. This series better not get nominated while The Leftovers gets snubbed again.

As a big fan of the show I was disappointed this season. Lots of good ideas and plot lines that went nowhere. It feels tired and uninspired. What does everyone think in terms of nominations? Spacey and Wright still in but the show out for series? Or does name recognition get this show a nomination?

Spacey and Wright should be fine, but I think it falls out of series. It lost four times, and it just feels like filler. At least Homeland won once. It’s recent PGA nod was for last season, which was better received.

I still have Spacey and Wright getting in due to a lack of competition, but the show will definitely fall out of Series. I’ve never had House of Cards predicted to get a Drama Series nod, and I don’t plan on predicting it now.

This series better not get nominated again, period. Hate to break it to you, but The Leftovers is getting snubbed no matter what. 🙁

I do not know what you guys are smoking, but this season is on FIRE. “Chapter 58” was, quite possibly, the greatest episode of this show I have seen. Everything from the past four seasons and the dynamic of Frank vs. Claire was there. Wow. This show still has it. The writing and directing is aces. I am on “59” now, and although neither Spacey nor Wright have an episode to submit yet, there is just this feeling of foreboding suspense that is being executed ao beautifully. People not predicting this for Series are delusional. In fact, given the current political climate, I think this season is the most likely for it to WIN Series.

Some pot. A little crack. And a bunch of good meth of course.
