Well, I have noticed that no one have made a Thread about this show, it airs on BBC2 Thursday 9:30 PM.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m a huge fan of Gervais and Merchant, I think they are comedy genius so, if you guys wanna talk about this show, it’s already on the second episode and we’ve already had special guests such as Liam Neeson and Johnny Depp and they were both hilarious, well the show is great and it might be a great bet for the emmys and the globes, since as we all know, they love to award Ricky Gervais shows.

    Discuss.

I don’t think LTS has a huge chance at the Emmys, but I do believe Ricky can win another Emmy, especially for his new series “Afterlife”. Gervais will play God, so I think he could go either Supporting or Guest. It just seems like something the Emmys would fall heads over heals for

The have seen bits and pieces. It is very funny but it might bomb with the Emmy voters.

Here in the U.S. we’ll have to wait until February when HBO plans to air it. Can’t wait; I’ve been following Gervais’ blog all year as it was in production.

I just watched the whole first season (series) today. At it`s best it is decent, and at it`s worst it is pretty bad. It never even sniffs the quality of “The Office” or “Extras”. There are some big guest stars on the show including; Liam Neeson, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Carell, and Sting. Neeson was the funniest of the guest stars to me. I thought the first couple episodes were the best. After the first couple episodes, the show goes downhill pretty quick. A couple of the episodes were really bad. I thought the worst episode was the finale with Sting as the guest star. The writing from Gervais and Merchant just isn`t there for this show. Davis does the best with what he is given to work with, but it is not enough to make the show good. I lost count how many times the writers had Davis fall down. In one of the episodes, Davis fell in back-to-back scenes. There are some laughs, but they are few and far between. I don`t see this show getting any emmy attention at all. I am a fan of Gervais and Merchant`s other work, but I was disappointed with this show.

I enjoyed it alot, I also thought it was pretty bad all the physic humor and David trying to do things humanily impossible for a Dwarf but he was a highlight, I thought he was hilarious in most of parts but let’s see how it will do on Hbo…

I was gonna write something about the show, but you got it all covered.  It really gets worse and worse by the episode, so what is never all that good to begin with is simply insufferable by the end – not unlike its main character, I might add. And Neeson was also my favorite guest star.

Ah, re: Emmy attention – the show has some big name guest stars… Will voters really pass up the opportunity to nominate Johnny Depp, for instance? He did have a sizable role and good material to work with.

Reviews from the show on Metacritic are kind of mixed, I think it will score a “70” to “75”  grade.

    Season 1 premiere date:
    Feb 19, 2012  on HBO .
