Cool! Hopefully all the episodes will aire before the eligibility cut off date.

Season 4 was the show’s strongest season.

ASSDJSAOJDOSF @ the 2hr premiere! Thought it would be directed by Jon Hamm?

Yeah. This will probably win for the fifth time in a row. Think about it. This show has one, if not the best writing team on television. I’m also sure that they didn’t spend their time off doing nothing. There’s a lot of stuff that was left open from season 4. Season 5 is poised to be the best season of Mad Men yet.

You mean Matthew Weiner plus whoever else happens to be on the staff in a given season?

Hahaha!! Fair enough. Call it what you want, Weiner & Co. know how to write a show.

To satisfy some curiosity, let’s take a look at this:

    Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4: Matthew Weiner (42), Andre & Maria Jacquemetton (8), Lisa Albert (6)
    Seasons 1, 2, 3: Robin Veith (5)
    Seasons 3, 4: Erin Levy (3), Dahvi Waller (3), Brett Johnson (2)
    Seasons 2, 3: Kater Gordon (3), Marti Noxon (2)
Season 1: Tom Palmer (2), Bridget Bedard (2), Chris Provenzano (2)
Season 2: Rick Cleveland (1), Jane Anderson (1)
Season 3: Cathryn Humphris (2), Andrew Colville (1)
Season 4: Jonathan Abrahams (2), Tracy McMillan (1), Keith Huff (1), Janet Leahy (1), Jonathan Igla (1)

Only Tracy McMillan and Andrew Colville wrote on a fully freelance basis, i.e. were only contracted for the one episode.  Everyone else was a staff member for multiple episodes or entire seasons as producers, story editors, etc., indicating high turnover.

Does The Sopranos rule still exist? The finale could air in June..

I so hope January Jones has something to do this season.

It doesn’t matter if the finale is in June. It could still be submitted this year

The hangover rule’s still in effect. It’s weird to bring up since this show has never needed it before, and their season finales are usually a big deal.

And I’m hoping the same for Jones.

The show has gotten a bit weaker each new season. So I have no reason to believe that this won’t be the worst season of the series. Hopefully they learned from their missteps in season three and particularly season four. There’s still potential for greatness.

Really?!! To me me season four is their best. What particular missteps are you talking about, JJ not being around too much?
