Did anyone catch either of these on Tuesday? I watched “About a Boy” last season and really liked it, and it grew really well by the end of the season. The duo of “Marry Me” and “About a Boy” on Tuesdays is great. While they’re not tonally the same, they kind of work really well together. I thought the pilot for “Marry Me” was awesome, my favorite comedy pilot of the year by far. Casey Wilson was outstanding, and the writing was fresh. It was sort of similar in tone to creator David Caspe’s previous series “Happy Endings,” and I love that show so this worked for me. I hope everyone checks it out, it’s awesome. As for “About a Boy,” it’s a sweet show with great performances from David Walton and Minnie Driver, and with Jason Katims behind the wheel, I never worry that things won’t be great. Anyone watching either of these shows?!

I watched the Marry Me pilot! It was prett good, definitely one of the better new shows this season, in my opinion. Then again, I was HUGE Happy Endings fan, and am a fan of Casey Wilson in general so I knew I’d like it going into it. While I think the writing could be a little stronger, I see a lot of promise in the show. Wilson’s performance is laugh out loud funny – she’s such a great character actress. I wonder if she’ll get some awards attention for this role?

I watched “About A Boy”. It still is a cute show but overall doesn’t really make me want to watch every week.

I think this should be made into 2 different threads

Having seen the pilots for both, I much prefer Marry Me and feel that these should be separate threads and I think that the new forum announcement actually mandates it.

Marry Me really surprised me and I look forward to seeing more of it.

I wonder how they are going to make it work that Dan Bucatinsky is a guest star, while Tim Meadows is a regular.

Yeah I found that odd. I guess since Bucatinsky was filming The Comeback and Web Therapy too while the first half was being filmed he wasn’t as available as Meadows.

Speaking of the dads, how many times do we have to hear that joke about not knowing who is the biological father in a mixed race couple?  It was funny in the first show that I heard it, but it has been done to death at this point.

I haven’t caught up with About a Boy yet, but I did like it a lot last season and will definitely be watching again…

Marry Me was great. The Pilot was pretty much the Casey Wilson show, like Jane Lynch, Kristen Wiig and others she can’t be anybody else but her Casey Wilson self (curious to see her in Gone Girl), so obviously Penny Hartz was present in about 70% of the Pilot, maybe more, but I don’t care. David Caspe knew what he was doing, creating a show to showcase his wife and throw in the ocassional moment for Ken Marino who was also great.

Bring on the “Casey Wilson’s character screws up” moments that we all love. The cast is pretty big and only Marino and JoBeth Williams made an impression during the Pilot, let’s see how it goes…
