I’ve noticed that we don’t have a topic about that show, dunno if I’m the only one here on the forums who is into Mike & Molly but, here we go.
I think this season 2 is all right so far… way better than first season, and this episode 5 aired last night, inspite of being a oddly short and not so good episode with only 18 minutes, it was nice, and a very good emmy tape for Billy Gardell, he was really awesome, killed it.October 25, 2011 at 2:43 pm #232771
I really don’t like this show. I gave it a shot after Melissa won. It really is bad, and I see no reason for it to be making a dent at any kind of awards show. Melissa McCarthy is so much better than this show is allowing her to be (as edivenced by her win for Bridesmaids) and I feel like if this show allows her to shine better, it would be better.October 25, 2011 at 2:56 pm #232772
I don’t think it is that bad, it’s better than lots of comedies released in this season, and yes McCarthy carries the show on her own but Gardell is very good, and he’s been improving a lot during the second season, also it airs right after 2.5 men, obviously it presents nice ratings, so i think it will be on air for quite a long time, at least it’s an opportunity for a better development of the characters.
Ps: if no one here besides me wants to comment about that show or something like that, there’s no point of having this thread so feel free to delete it.October 25, 2011 at 4:00 pm #232773
I don’t think anyone would have a problem with the thread existing. This show is making a much bigger dent in the awards races than most people feel it should, so it’s at least worth keeping an eye on.April 16, 2012 at 1:22 pm #232774
I know nobody uses this thread but here is the promo for tonight:
This Looks like Melissa’s Tape for the emmys. It reminds me of her winning tape because she goes on a diet.
Episode Title: “The Dress”
Synopsis: Molly needs to lose weight to fit into her wedding dress.April 16, 2012 at 9:53 pm #232775
WoW, I kind of stopped watching this show, I’m kind of 10 episodes late, gotta make a run of it someday!April 18, 2012 at 8:33 pm #232776
I watched a handful of episodes from the first season, and I’m not impressed. Love McCarthy, but there’s absolutely nothing Emmy worthy about her performance. A nomination was bad enough, I’d even go as far to say Miley Cyrus put on better work in Hannah Montana. Stupid award show sucks.April 19, 2012 at 11:08 am #232777
TBF this show is not half as bad as it’s made out to be in here. It’s a good show, not great but with funny moments here and there.April 19, 2012 at 6:36 pm #232778
There are definitely funny moments on the show! I can’t believe Vince is on so much though – Luois Mustillo is awful.April 19, 2012 at 7:03 pm #232779
That’s weird, I think he is the funniest character on the show.April 19, 2012 at 7:18 pm #232780
His role keeps expanding so I think I am probably in the minority when it comes to him! I think he’s too obvious and forced.April 19, 2012 at 8:02 pm #232781
Well I haven’t watched the last 10 episodes or so but I used to to think he was fun back then.April 19, 2012 at 8:16 pm #232782
I forgot you had missed so much! He is like in every home scene!April 20, 2012 at 4:17 am #232783
A cable channel in my country has aired its first three episodes and I found the show pretty awful. It wasn’t funny and the writing was disjointed. In ‘First Date’ which won McCarthy an Emmy, she got an opportunity to flex her comedy muscle, but there was nothing noteworthy about it. Anyway, I may give the show another chance because McCarthy and Gardell were cute together, and Kurtz’s character seemed to have some potential. Hope she has her own storyline.
