Olivia Palermo will be the guest judge in the upcoming episode. Pretty cool if you ask me. She knows what she’s talking about.

What is it with these designers this season? They seem to be talented but simply can’t knock one over with their designs. Blah all over the runway again. I liked Viktor’s looks, Anya’s jumpsuit and Bert’s little dress but that’s it. Nothing was stunning or even great. Please step it up people.

Man, Viktor was pissed when both Anya’s and Bert’s outfit were produced and he had to leave all empty-handed even though he was the one with two decent garments instead of just one and another one that’s merely passable. Poor guy…  But I loved that he was defying Joshua in the lounge. wtf, I’m even younger than Joshua and have a picture of the 1970’s and what people looked like at that time, shush…

If somebody told me at the beginning of the season Anthony Ryan would be auf’d before Bert, Joshua & Laura I’d never believed it, but he simply ran out of steam. I never really liked his work, except for the bird seed dress, and therefore don’t really care that he’s gone, but it sure was unexpected since so many people (including me) said he was the likeliest to go to Bryant Park.

My new predictions for the top three: Viktor, Anya & by a nose Kimberly. I could still see either Josh or Bert make it, but not Laura. I mean Nina doesn’t like her and she always gets her will on the show, so no.

Yeah, a lot of the designs are lovely but not wow.  But dealing with what we’ve got…

I thought Viktor should’ve won. His garments seemed the most complete and polished.  Anya’s jumpsuit was adorable- I gasped out loud when I saw it.  But while her first look was amazing considering her limited resources, it in no way looked finished.  I love her, but not deserving of the win this time IMHO.  I didn’t really get the love for Bert’s first look- to me it looked like a beach coverup.  But I absolutely loved his little second dress- it was probably my favorite design of the episode.  So unbelievably simple, yet perfect.  I’m happy for him that Piperlime is going to produce it, but I felt it was a slap in the face for Viktor.

Anthony Ryan is such a sweetie pie, I am sorry that he had to go.  But he’s been terribly inconsistent, and both his looks last night were ugly as hell.  Strangely, I saw a little bit of Gretchen in his second look- funny how when it was her, that type of look was praised.  Joshua’s first look was hideous, but I must confess I didn’t think his second was as bad as the judges were all saying; forgive me, but I kinda liked the print.  Laura’s first look was almost as bad as Josh’s, but I liked her second look but I guess she lost points because the black wouldn’t photograph well.  I really didn’t care for Kimberly’s first look at all, and I think I’m blanking on her second look at the moment, but even though I like her, I thought sure she was going to be in the bottom 3.

All in all, I think I liked everyone one of the designers’ second looks over their first looks.  Weird.

I am really having a hard time predicting the final 3.  Viktor seems the most likely, and Anya perhaps the second most likely, though I still worry about her sewing skills.  At one point, Kimberly was one of my favorites but I’m no longer sure she can do it.  I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think Bert has a great shot.  He was struggling at first but seems to have found his footing.  I’m rooting against Josh at this point, both because of his poor attitude and his inability to edit his looks.  Good point blueprint about how Laura is unlikely to make it given Nina’s feelings, and plus, some of her looks are nice but usually don’t seem noteworthy.

I forgive you, since I thought that too. lol

It wasn’t really 70’s but the way the judges trashed it, especially Nina, didn’t seem appropriate.

I can’t even process this thing.  ARE YOU FUCK-NG KIDDING ME HEIDI?

Burt and that dress. That Olivia Palermo girl might be a bitch and might know and might look great sitting there and has zero problems with criticizing clothes, but those silver things can’t be THAT good. That dress was extremely simple and does not look got at all. Then the other dress, the top was cool but the rest was not. And I have never EVER seen them act so easy about a designer who shows a lot of skin. What the hell is going on with this guy and these judges?

THEN to add even more insult they throw out Anthony Ryan in favor of Joshua! I mean WHAT THE F-CK? I have never EVER seen such a great designer voted off so early. Yes, Heidi, cute as hell, but one of the top 3 guys you have here too you idiot. You know Nina is behind this because Joshua “takes risks”.

I just can’t believe Joshua is still there considering how they went after that second look that actually looked great. They criticize him so much (the first look deserved even more than what they told him, it was awful) and then leave him in? For mistakes that go back to forever this season?

And as if that wasn’t enough, after all the bad things they said, after all those faces Nina made, after the comment Tim made that is so obviously true, Laura is called first as “In” from the least favorites. That should’ve been Anthony Ryan and then Laura and Joshua for the elimination.

Thank God at least Anya won, poor girl. I felt really sorry for her and then really good when her looks came out. That girl is IT. Obviously Viktor (who was ready to kill someone when the winners were announced) and WHO THE F-CK KNOWS NOW is the obvious Top 3. They basically gave Anya more praise in 20 seconds than anybody in the history of this show and they already said Viktor is fashion week material.

At the way we’re going, Burt is the other designer for fashion week. I can’t see Nina letting Laura through, I thought Tim was exaggerating. I don’t think Joshua will make it and really don’t care for Kim at all.

Yes, this post is that long!

Hands down, I thought Kimberly had the worst two garments. they were so ill fitting. I was so surprised she was the only one safe. I hated Joshua last night.

I went to mylifetime.com to remind myself of Kimberly’s garments, and what I remembered as her first look was actually her second, and her main look was the one I couldn’t remember.  Now I remember- yeah, yuck, that was a pretty ill-fitting pantsuit in a boring color.  I don’t think hers were worse than Anthony Ryan’s, though.

Oh, did I feel bad for poor Viktor. The judges praise him up and down and then pick two other people for the win.

Olivia Palermo clearly knows her stuff, but she struck me as yet another utterly humorless fashion “insider.” So many of them, Nina Garcia included, are sour and grim to point of comedy. Or they’re bitchy and mean like Michael Kors. Heidi at least seems like she’s up for a party.

This was the closest to an Emmy worthy submission that has come up so
far. The head-to-head competition turned out much better than I thought
and brought the episode to another level. Although the pairing was to perfect to be randomly chosen. Superstar and underdog,
the new-found best buddies and the girls against each other. Any other
    pairing would have been lame.
In the end a lot of the drama was very deliberate, due to scrapping the
second look, but it was highly entertaining competition-related drama.

I really felt for Kim, and some scenes as well as her story were quite
heartbreaking and showed another side of her. Therefore I was very happy when she pulled it off. With a
little more high-end editing her dress could have been the clear
    winner.

It might have been because the quality of the video I was watching
wasn’t HD, but to me Anya’s garment looked poorly executed and
ill-fitting. She had a point with it, but it wasn’t worthy of the win to
    me.
As much as I dislike to say it but I would have given the win to Joshua.
Considering that the orange he chose wasn’t perfectly representing the
make-up palette in the add, that was probably the reason
    why he wasn’t picked.

Since Laura isn’t a threat to my favorites I’m kind of glad that Bert
had to leave. Still his look was the worst and least
    inspiring.

My prediction for next week: Laura and Kim won’t make it to the top three. But I’d love to see Kim make it instead of Josh.

I think this was a pretty nice challenge, but I find it difficult to give a win to any of the contestants. Anya of course deserves the win out of these six dresses, but I can’t help but agree with Joshua that you can’t just finish everything at the last second and sew people into dresses and then cut them out of it. She has to finish something right at least once. But the dress was awesome.

Joshua had a nice idea, but like Michael (love this guy) said it best, drunk night in the caribbean and she put her corsage wherever her alcohol lever told her to. And I can’t believe anybody would think that was a great idea. If it looks like a corsage, it doesn’t work. And Joshua knew it looked like one.

Between Viktor and Kimberly, Kim was the easy winner. Viktor’s dress was a mess with all those feathers, there was no shape there at all.

Burt deserved to go and poor Laura got hit hard. But between the two, of course Burt is the looser. He didn’t deserve half the praise he got.

Anya and Viktor still look like, not only two of the final three, but the actual final two.

Agreed, that was an excellent Emmy submission episode. The head-to-head competition gave it extra oomph.

This ep also showed how Tim Gunn is indispensable to the show and couldn’t be swapped out with another fashion mentor. I am SO glad he’s part of the producing team now.

Agreed that clearly Anya and Viktor are in the final two. But given Josh’s sour, grim attitude on last night’s “After the Runway” train wreck, which was obviously filmed post-Fashion Week, I’m guessing he is eliminated next week.

Tim has been at his best all season. Chasing Swatch in Mood a few weeks ago is one of those moments I could watch over and over again. I particularly love how this season it could not be more apparent who his favorites are. He was obviously heartbroken by Anthony Ryan’s too early dismissal. But he was asked a few weeks ago in an interview who his least favorite designer was and he said Bert without any hesitating. You could really tell that this week. He didn’t really offer any feedback for Bert to fix his design and when it was time to send him to the workroom, he was clearly fine with it.

i would’ve thought he’d had said olivier/oliver, tim was obvs not losing any sleep over that elimination

though the 2 of them would make a hilarious sitcom
