    Episode 1.1:  Pilot

Inspired by a true story, this is a
high-octane drama about eccentric genius Walter O’Brien and his team
of brilliant misfits, who comprise the last line of defense against
complex, high-tech threats of the modern age.  His group includes Toby Curtis, an expert behaviorist
who can read anyone; Happy Quinn, a mechanical prodigy; and Sylvester
Dodd, a statistics guru. Pooling their extensive technological
knowledge to solve mind-boggling predicaments amazes federal agent
Cabe Gallo, who shares a harrowing history with O’Brien. However,
while this socially awkward group is comfortable with each other’s
humor and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them, so they
rely on Paige Dineen, who has a young, gifted son, to translate the
world for them. And when a crisis at Los Angeles International
Airport leaves dozens of planes unable to land, Homeland Security
calls upon them to save the day.

The runway scene was a real burst of energy and some suspense.

Talk about a dumb pilot.   There was an inherent lack of logic in most of this pilot.   First off, I highly doubt that a civilian (McPhee’s character, Paige, the waitress) would have been allowed to so quickly be involved in a investigation like this. Let alone drive the car!   This was a very poorly written pilot.

Can NBC bring Smash back? I don’t want Katharine McPhee on this stupid procedural.

And what a whimpy FBI agent (Robert Patricks character) to so quickly be intimidated and essentially ordered around by the Walter character… Seriously this show was awful.

The one good thing I can say about it is that the lead actor Elyse Gabel is pretty good. He is believeable and makes you root for him despite how stupid the writing is here.

Gabel had been in pilots that weren’t picked up so I think he had been seen as someone who could be a major asset to a show but this was the one picked up.

This show is so boring and so just like any other drama (except Good Wife) on CBS

This was another dumb Pilot. Many of the scenes had no logic at all, specially Katharine McPhee’s character who didn’t belong in half of the scenes it was involved in. You’re telling me she would’ve been allowed to stay there? With that kid? And with agents being around she was the best option to drive that car? And that particular car? The lead wasn’t anything special either.

All of the other characters outside Walter and the kid were to me basically faceless and pointless. They are essentially all stock characters that could be on any show in any capacity.

Second episode held up in the ratings impressively. The undercover operation at the corporation and mall scenes were highlights. Background scenes for almost all characters.
