“Shameless” is set to return January 11, 2015!
Do you all think this next season will stick to the brilliance of Season 4? Will the writers go with a more comedic tone now that they know ahead of time that the show is officially a Comedy contender at the Emmys? And how do you all see this being represented at the Globes? Will Macy make it in and possibly, past Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum?
But then who care, right? Shameless is back in only 3 months!!!October 1, 2014 at 12:22 pm #335182
You beat me to this!
It’s very rare for a show to have such a creative resurgence (The Good Wife also did it) so late in its run, so I hope it can be sustained. I have two concerns:
*SPOILERS FOR END OF SEASON FOUR*
1) Frank is still alive, so what the hell are they going to do with him?
2) Jimmy-Steve is back. Meh.
However, the Shameless writers have earned my trust over the last season as it went from a very good show to one of the very best on TV.October 1, 2014 at 1:08 pm #335183
I don’t think they really care about the Emmys, and they shouldn’t.October 1, 2014 at 1:17 pm #335184
The only Emmy they care about:October 1, 2014 at 1:43 pm #335185
I don’t think they really care about the Emmys, and they shouldn’t.
I think appealing to the Academy to be allowed to switch to comedy is a move that screams “we care about the Emmys”.October 1, 2014 at 7:27 pm #335186
They deserve to win at some point. I hope this season isn’t as dark as last. The comedy elements in Seasons 1-3 would have helped Macy alot this yearJanuary 9, 2015 at 11:31 am #335187

I will watch this later tonight.January 9, 2015 at 1:48 pm #335189
It’s on Showtime Anytime too (the unedited version) but it’s not working for me. Is it working for anyone else?January 9, 2015 at 6:12 pm #335190
Excellent! I’ll have to watch the edited version (meh), but at least this will take some of the pressure off me on Globes night. It’s ridiculous how much programming is stuffed on Sunday nights now.January 10, 2015 at 7:23 am #335191
Fun start to the season. Obviously we know that things won’t be this good for long, but it was nice to begin the season with a Gallagher party.
Not sure if I like what’s happening w/ Emily Bergl, but I’ll wait it out before passing judgment. The whole cast, as usual, was uniformly great throughout.January 10, 2015 at 11:34 am #335192
I’m so excited for new season to begin. I binge-watched all 4 seasons this summer and I loved it so much. I’m really tempted to watch the season premiere of Shameless now, but I’ve been counting down the days to the 11th for a while so I might as well watch it then. 🙂January 10, 2015 at 3:28 pm #335193
Just watched it and it is great! Seems like everyone is getting their stuff back together after all the bad choices the characters made in season four. But that won’t last for longJanuary 11, 2015 at 4:23 am #335194
