This is getting strong reviews as one of the standout comedies of the new season. 79 on Metacritic. Starring Minnie Driver. Airs on Wednesdays @ 8:30 PM ET on ABC.

This show is really fun and cute. Did enough to make me want to watch a second episode.

Wow. Very strong pilot. I really laugh a lot during the episode. Minnie Driver is excellent and the rest of the cast is also very strong. Very thrilled and can’t wait for the rest.

I was also very impressed with this pilot. I thought it was very well done, and Minnie Driver was great. They were unafraid to tackle the disability issue head on, and it feels like a perfect fit with that ABC family comedy line-up on Wednesdays, so I think it’ll thrive there assuming the quality keeps up.

It was a laugh out loud, funny show. I hope that tired lead in sit-com, The Goldbergs, doesn’t hurt the ratings for Speechless.

I know I shouldn’t have been surprised by this but I thought was one of the best pilots in many years. Laugh out loud funny with instantly relatable characters. Well acted, well written and well directed. I can already see this becoming a favourite of mine.

I enjoyed this one a lot. They packed a ton into 22 minutes and the writing was very crisp. They will need to tone down Driver’s character a bit in order to make it work as a weekly series. Mason Cook as young Ray made a strong impression.

Minnie Driver is very good in the Pilot.

As a whole, it has great warmth to accompany the laughs – which not too many sitcoms get across in the first episode. Very promising!

I liked the pilot too. I wouldn’t mind seeing Minnie Driver nominated for this at all. She’s the main draw and milks all of her appeal for what it’s worth. They didn’t hit the “otherness” theme too hard here, and the resolution was generally a sweet one. Nice ensemble, and the kids look like genuine finds. Hope this show finds its audience.

This was an excellent pilot and one of the shows I was most anticipating. They did a very good job hitting home some very key points about what is like to live with a disability and the way it impacts the entire family. The entire cast is doing a good job so far, and Minnie Driver steals the show. I am hoping they give John Ross Bowie more to do however.

Other then Minnie Driver, I’m not familiar with any of the actors. The actor who is in the wheelchair has great facial expressions. I can’t say I love the show, but it’s enjoyable and I always watch MF right afterwards.

Great second episode! Minnie Driver is excellent, and Micah Fowler is one of this season’s best new breakthrough stars.

I love this show so far. Haven’t seen last night’s episode yet but Minnie Driver is so great. I’m still bitter that NBC dumped About a Boy

Second episode built on the pilot’s good points and added a few new ones. We still need to flesh out Driver’s character a bit more–she’s going to become one-note before long–but she’s an awfully good actress and the show is in solid creative hands, so I have no doubt they’ll get there. They’ve got a crackerjack supporting cast and I laughed a lot at the differences between jerks and idiots, as well as Ray’s walking complex with the twenty percent kick-out. (“It’s fine for today, but is this your long-term walking plan?”)
