Better late than never.
I just wanted to give people a chance to talk about one of the best post-merge sections in Survivor history before Sunday’s finale.
For the first time in a longgggggg time, I felt genuinely angry and sad by tonight’s blindside. I don’t see a scenario in which Cochran loses, barring a med evac that was teased at the end of the episode.May 8, 2013 at 9:20 pm #275023
Woah, there was never a thread for this? Missed out on a great season, really.
I’m gonna miss Brenda. I understand the move, but I was still heartbroken as she cried through her post-vote interview.May 8, 2013 at 9:33 pm #275024
Yeah — that was just too much. I think Dawn just lost the game with that vote.
I’ve talked to a few people who are vouching that Erik could win the game if Cochran doesn’t make the final three and I could see it. Nice guy, good at challenges and hasn’t pissed anyone off. Plus, if he’s sitting next to Dawn and Sherri, he might get the three amigo + Brenda vote.May 8, 2013 at 9:34 pm #275025
This has been a great season. I hate Dawn.
I hope Survivor makes a return to the Reality Competition Series category.May 8, 2013 at 9:39 pm #275026
The vitriol and hate spewed at Dawn on the Internet probably ranks near the top of Survivor outrages. I don’t think it will top the Dreamz/car bit but Jeff will certainly replay Dawn’s confessional after Brenda DOVE IN THE WATER for her dentures: “I will forever be indebted to Brenda. I love her” or something like that.
Part of me hopes the sympathy will get America to vote for Brenda and overcome the girls who find Malcolm dreamy for the fan favorite…May 9, 2013 at 3:33 am #275028
“I have to take out the biggest strategic player” – Dawn about Brenda.
Yet Cochran is still there. Do they think they could win with him? Now I hate Dawn.
I hope this show comes back into the Reality-Competition category. I don’t understand why it was dropped.May 9, 2013 at 3:44 am #275029
And now I hope Dawn gets to the end and the jury gives her the Russel treatment.May 9, 2013 at 8:27 am #275030
It funny how Dawn gets all the hate and Cochran seems to be immune from it. I guess they plan on taking Sherry to the end with themMay 9, 2013 at 8:49 am #275031
I think Dawn is getting all of the hate because Brenda was 100% truthful with her. After all, she intended on blindsiding Cochran after they voted Eddie so there was a natural disconnect between Cochran and Brenda.
Cochran didn’t have the emotional ties to Brenda that Dawn did. Plus, before knowing the cruel twist, she picked Dawn with no hesitation to share the family visit… She also made Dawn feel good about herself by dropping in the immunity challenge only for it to come back to bite her in the end.May 9, 2013 at 9:57 am #275032
I think this TV season is the best one Survivor has had in a while with two great seasons from last years one with Lisa and this season with the greatness of Cochran. I can never hate Dawn but thought she made a horrible mistake getting rid of Brenda. I could see Dawn voting out Brenda for taking away her family from her which is one of the most awful things I’ve ever seen a person do on reality tv.May 10, 2013 at 9:11 am #275033
If this was the first time I saw Dawn play, I would hate her. But It is fun watching her transition from last time around to this time. She was a key player in countering two big moves from Malcolm’s side. She has to do what she has to do, well maybe too much, and it won’t lead her to victory. Brenda was too much of a threat in every way to keep around. She could win every IC from now on and easily win at the final TC. I feel that Brenda was always on the outside of the core alliance. She moved closer lately and emotionally bonded with Dawn, but she was still on the oust of Cochran and Dawn. I rarely saw, or they rarely showed, Brenda really discussing strategy. She shouldn’t have let her guard down after what she had done in this episode. Last time she was too obvious in her gameplay and she was out, this time she was more ‘humble’ but ended up being an obvious threat in the end.May 11, 2013 at 4:35 pm #275034
First time commenting on this thread, I haven’t been watching as they have originally aired, so I didn’t want to get spoiled, but I’m all caught up now.
First of all, why hasn’t anyone mentioned that Sherry looks and almost sounds exactly like Sandra Bullock? My brother told me about that and I couldn’t stop laughing from that moment on everytime she comes on screen. I told a friend who’s never seen Survivor in his life but obviously knows about the show that Sandra Bullock was on it this season, I showed him an episode and he just stood there for like three seconds and said “what? wait what…wait…?”….
Yes Dawn is annoying as hell. It’s hilarious, the loved ones episode is usually a tearful episode, but with Dawn crying it was just way too much fun and funny to even bother getting teary eyed. I never liked her, she was always that contestant that didn’t really matter and she came into this season exactly like that. But she turned it around, ended being a huge player.
Brenda was dumb, she should’ve seen this coming, it’s just not just the fact that nobody would vote you out because you were so nice and humble to the other four during the loved ones moment, but you also have the balls to be great at challenges AND! she actually let Dawn win.. She placed a huge target on her back and it was good/evil on Cochran’s part and to Dawn’s credit to take advantage of it. That’s how you play Survivor. It was a great move.
Eddie….god damn it Eddie. What a dumb pretty, hot boy. I couldn’t stop laughing when he wrote down Eric this week. He’s so out of this game and out of everbody’s mind that I can totally see him ending up in third place while the others kill themselves for the other two spots in the final three. I’m thinking he’ll outlast Sherry and Eric and Dawn/Cochran will use him until the end with Cochran winning.
Fantastic season and that Phillip/Malcolm/Reynold/Eddie episode was insane and one of the best episodes the show has ever had.May 11, 2013 at 4:36 pm #275035
After that long post I can’t believe I forgot to mention this.
As a HUGE fan of Survivor I can’t believe that I had NO IDEA that The Ponderosa existed. Maybe I read about it once, but I seriously can’t remember anything about it and I think I just found out two weeks ago about it. And of course I have even less of a clue that there are youtube videos of the contestants arriving there and haging out with everybody else that’s on the jury.
The videos are great to watch. Seriously, no clue.
