My choice of favorite show does not have the taint and stain of one Louis CK all over it. And yours has the most overrated actress of this forking DECADE.

I thought Pheobe Waller-Bridge was the most overrated actress. Or was it Ruth Negga? Or Julia Louis Dreyfus? Or Rachel Bloom? Not that you actually know who any of them are since you don’t watch their shows.

I absolutely love Kristen Bell, and I think she is criminally underrated, but your disdain for all things Pamela Adlon is a bit exhausting. She, like Bell, is a breath of fresh air. Maybe you could make room for both of them (and actually watch Better Things)?

Tomorrow, it resumes its terrific second season. May there be a miracle of miracles on January 11 at the Critics Choice Awards…

    Episode 2.9: Leap to Faith

“Shut the door. Have a seat.”

Michael’s world – and trying to keep secret his 802nd attempt to reboot Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason when he was given only TWO tries to get it right – is on the verge of collapse when Shawn makes an unannounced visit.

USA Today’s preview of tonight’s episode: “The afterlife sitcom returns from hiatus and kicks off the back half of its stellar second season. The winter premiere is just as fresh and funny as the fall episodes, as Michael (Ted Danson) deals with the aftermath of a visit from his (literally) demonic boss Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson).”

Trending nationally on Twitter as I send this, a return as spectacular as any show I’ve ever seen. No sophomore jinx here. Tremendous, ‘Michael’s Gambit’ caliber episode that reboots the series and will take it to someplace I have no idea where Michael Schur and co. are heading. But the ride will be exhilarating to the max.

The Producers Guild of America is gonna have massive egg on its face when they snub The Good Place tomorrow AM like all of its creative arts organization predecessors have (Emmys, Globes, SAG). The PGA for Comedy Series winner will have an asterisk next to it. Because they never faced this show.

So, every Award win will have an asterisk next to it at this point?

Ambitious but messy premiere with a twist that was not natural and way to much of a stretch.

Best show on TV in the last few years. The Golden Globes are stupid for not awarding this show. Same with the Emmys. This should be winning ALL OF THE EMMYS.

E! News, thanks so much for this expansive article on The Second Act of Kristen Bell:

    http://eonli.ne/2CGVeUw

Michael Schur, Good Place showrunner: “There just aren’t that many people who fit that profile, and (Kristen) is one of them. Watching her act is like watching LeBron James play basketball—she does everything well.”

The Producers Guild of America snub jolted me to a inescapable realization. If The Good Place is on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon, it would be drowning in nominations and wins. It’s a sad fact of life that one creative arts award organization after another have been seduced by the internet distribution aura which has a lot more garbage in, garbage out horse-s like Fuller House, Shuteye, Patriot, Flaked and The Hotwives of Orlando than networks can ever produce. And TGP is the one that always takes it up the ass.

The Good Place is TV’s best 30 minutes, bar none, and unless there is a sea change among the Globes, PGA, WGA, Emmys and SAGs that broadcast network TV can still achieve must-see-TV status, these injustices will continue.

I do think that The Good Place would fare better at awards if it were a streaming original, but it is worth noting that the single most critically acclaimed show of the year is almost as big of an awards flop, despite its premium cable home.  Twin Peaks is not faring that well either.
