I’ve been watching this show sequentially–on season two now–and I’m warming to the show with each episode. The last one I watched–”VIP Treatment”–was especially excellent. I didn’t see very much of season three (and what I saw–the season premiere, the Eddie Izzard episode–I didn’t like, unfortunately) but I’m still looking forward to seeing the rest.

I think the two teens playing Alicia’s children are capable actors but they get the weakest material of all, I find. I hope that changes with this season.

New Season 4 promo introducing two of the many many guest stars:

Kalinda looks like after a weak season 3 is back to even better material.

Here is an interview with the creators (Kings):
‘The Good Wife’: Archie Panjabi and the Kings talk the ‘risky’ business of Kalinda’s husband

CBS has released a juicy promo for The Good Wife‘s Sept. 30 return in which we see Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and her estranged husband Nick (British actor Marc Warren) get handsy — both in the bedroom and at the office (fight scene!). Watch it below. You definitely see why creators Robert and Michelle King have referenced Fifty Shades of Grey when talking about the relationship. Chatting recently with EW, Panjabi admitted she’s both excited and nervous to see how the audience reacts to it. “I think Marc and I as actors have made risky choices with risky material,” she says. “It’s interesting, it’s sexy, it’s edgy, it’s dangerous, it’s violent, it’s intimate. It’s so many different things rolled into one.”

Who should play Kalinda’s husband was the subject of much online debate during the offseason. The Kings wanted an established actor still unfamiliar to most American viewers. “That seemed much more interesting to us because you never know then what this guy will do,” Robert says. “The problem if you have a recognizable face is you kinda know the range of what that male star will do. What’s fun is the unpredictability factor. I think you’ll see with Marc Warren there’s a real sense of what Malcolm McDowell gave in his first roles in If…. and A Clockwork Orange.”

Panjabi and Warren never met before he was cast, but the Kings thought his vocal range would provide a sexy contrast. “Kalinda is usually so hair-pinned-up and exactly right, and Marc Warren, you got the sense, could be all over the map in this kind of Trainspotting way,” Robert says. Having now seen him in action with Panjabi, the Kings are confident they made the right call. “We love him,” Michelle says. “And once you see him, you can’t imagine Kalinda being married to anyone else. He’s that perfect.”

Panjabi seems to agree. “A lot of people are quite intimidated by Kalinda. The way he plays it, he’s not intimidated by Kalinda, he’s very much turned on by her danger. Anybody who’s gonna work opposite Kalinda would have to have that certain edge to them,” she says. “He’s just a very powerful actor, and I think there was an instant connection for the characters, but also for Marc and Archie. Both being Brits, both having a crazy sense of humor, helped us capture that chemistry.”

“It’s been a marriage a bit made in heaven… or hell,” Robert says with a laugh. “We don’t know what will be decided by the year.”

Love this show. It just keeps on getting better and better. Season 3 was awesome.

That promo is TRYING TOO HARD, but Kalinda being awesome makes up for it. And I still see the hair chimps are still too mad w/Julianna b/c there’s no other explaination for the continued bad hair days she has been having on this show.

At least it looks better than the Kalinda Sharma and Blake Calamar pairing, which I have been suffering through as I near the end of the second season. Archie Panjabi and Scott Porter (the latter certainly miscast but good in other roles) had no chemistry–sexual or otherwise–and their scenes should have been more exciting to watch than they were. Panjabi tried her hardest to make it work, though, and I’m interested to see how this pairing will turn out.

Well the promo was made by CBS trying to entice more viewers, so while it wasn’t good, I don’t think that’ll reflect on the quality of the actual show. At least I hope not. So is Chenoweth only in this episode since she walked into… Err a set piece “hit” her and gave her a head injury? I heard that she has now dropped out.

I pictured Kalinda’s husband older than him. He seems to be the same age as her. Certainly unexpected casting choice to me, but I don’t really buy it. Yet.
I hope Cheno is still in for more episodes when she has recovered. But if there’s actually going to be a suit, it is of course unlikely. So is a guest actress nod. I highly doubt she will be submitted then.

The promo sure screams ‘Our show is cool, please watch!’ Hope they get what they want, the show seriously needs more viewers.

It seems every season premiere will feature a hot sex scene. And I’m curious as to how Kung-Fu Kalinda will fit into the big picture of her storyline.

Throw in Kathy Bates and you’ve got an Annie reunion, I hope these two have a lot of screentime together because It will be great.

So that’s Kalinda’s husband? Hmmm. Not what I pictured, but that’s likely a good thing since his role is up for surprise. Glad to see Chenoweth back!

She looks like a cardboard cut-out in that pic…
