Looks amazing.April 2, 2012 at 1:54 pm #241926
Looks like we have our next HBO contender. Aaron Sorkin + series about cable news + political relevance + award recognized cast = awards magnet.April 2, 2012 at 2:04 pm #241927
I read a comment about this show trailer that it looks like the classic 70’s film Network. If it was inspired we all know sorkin’s love for the film as he mnetionaed it in his oscar speech.
I think Jeff Daniels looks ok in the role, but i’m really excited for Fonda and Pill because I love them.April 2, 2012 at 2:12 pm #241928
I love Sorkin like nobody’s business, but a lot of this trailer gives me Studio 60 flashbacks.April 2, 2012 at 8:21 pm #241929
Aces trailer, and Jeff Daniels already looks Emmy-worthy here. Really looking forward to this one.April 2, 2012 at 8:57 pm #241930
Jeff Daniels looks like he’s been brought back to life. I’ll be watching this.April 2, 2012 at 9:15 pm #241931
Aaron Sorkin coming off of an Oscar win, and allowing his admiration for Paddy Chayefsky to run rampant, with Jeff Daniels and Jane Fonda on television. Come on. This is going to be terrific.April 2, 2012 at 9:25 pm #241932
So… this is listed as drama on IMDB, is that accurate?April 2, 2012 at 9:56 pm #241933
The trailer plays the footage as more of a behind-the-scenes drama than a workplace comedy, so my thought is “yes.” Also, as funny as Studio 60 could be, it too was considered a drama with humorous moments, rather than a dark comedy.April 2, 2012 at 9:58 pm #241934
When was “Studio 60” funny?April 2, 2012 at 10:31 pm #241935
When was “Studio 60” funny?
All the time. Just not intentionally for the most part.April 3, 2012 at 4:04 am #241936
So… this is listed as drama on IMDB, is that accurate?
I’d think that drama would be the way to go for a show like this. I’d call “Studio 60” a drama too.
And Jane Fonda getting to play a female Ted Turner? Love that.April 3, 2012 at 5:48 am #241937
Yes, it seems Jane Fonda plays a female version of her ex-husband. That’s interesting. LOL
Based on the trailer, this show should be considered a drama series, especially if it airs for 60 minutes per episode. But back when there were news circulating about Sorkin creating a series revolving around behind-the-scenes events of a news program, I read, or probably assumed, that it would be a comedy.
