Orange is the New Black has been renewed for THREE more seasons (5,6,7) with Jenji Kohan remaining as the showrunner.

    BOOM CHAKALAKA.

Nick Sandow was on the Vulture TV Podcast a couple of months ago (during the middle of filming season 4) and when asked about the category placement, he mentioned that this going to be the darkest season yet (where I think the show thrives).

YES! I’m so excited now. I thought the third season was the lightest and I really disliked it. The darkest thus far (Season 2) has been my favorite. Can’t wait for a return to form.

I personally LOVED the light-hearted nature of the 3rd season (although c’mon guys – it really wasn’t that “light” – remember that Pennsawtucky rape storyline – truly heartbreaking!)

Excited to see what S4 has in store!

Very true-as was the Nicky drug storyline. I guess my issue with it was that it wasn’t suspenseful like Season 2. I think that was a really powerful asset to the show and really made you want to keep watching. I didn’t get that with Season 3. I always clicked next episode because I wanted to finish the series, rather than genuinely wanting to know what will happen next. The urgency just wasn’t put into the storylines. I hope that characteristic of the show comes back with the new season.

Vee made everything super dramatic in season 2. As brilliant as Lorraine Toussaint was, I prefer the series in its comedy sweet spot like in seasons 1 and 3. I guess we’re due for the drama now in 4.

I just want OITNB to be in the Comedy categories once and for all. No more drama please and thank you.

The show was never a comedy, even in season one. I do think the writers getting caught up in making the show “darker” for the sake of the Emmys can’t be good for quality

The binge officially begins in less than three hours! 87 on Metacritic.

Devastated. Superior over season three. Not as entertaining as season two. But maybe the best the show has ever been in giving us a complete experience with the intend of ruining us by the finale.

Absolutely fantastic. It’s not as great as season 2 were, but definitely better than seasons 1 and 3. Also, Taylor Schilling needs to comeback to Lead Actress race. She was fenomenal in her redemption arc.
