In case anyone cares to know or might be interested, BBC America is airing a one-hour special, Orphan Black: The Clonversation, this Saturday, April 12, 2013 in advance of the premiere of season 2 the following Saturday. The special will air at 8/7c in America.
Orphan Black: The Cloneversation will be hosted by Will Wheaton, who will be joined by show fans Patton Oswalt and Orlando Jones, plus Orphan Black cast members as they discuss season 1 and look ahead to season 2.April 8, 2014 at 12:32 am #315573
I enjoyed the first season a bit less on the re-watch but still well enough to very much look forward to the second. Though most thought the final two episodes or the pilot was the way to go if Maslany was nominated it’s episode 8 that stands out. It’s not too confusing for new viewers and gave a moment for each of the main clones. She likely wouldn’t have won no matter what she submitted. Getting nominated for Maslany is the biggest hurdle, but it’s hard to imagine she’ll get that just right tape unless the writers are aware of how the Emmys work and manufacture one. The character drama is the best thing about this series (besides Maslany of course). Unless the genre aspects become stronger that really needs to be the primary focus, but it seems like it’ll inevitably move in the other direction.April 8, 2014 at 7:27 pm #315574
She was better in Parks and Rec.April 15, 2014 at 4:02 pm #315577
Haha. You know, I was actually wondering the other day if she could submit lead for Sarah, and supporting for Alison/Cosima. Would never happen obviously, but would be funny if it were allowed.April 15, 2014 at 4:22 pm #315578
I don’t want to speak too soon, but this Maslany shit might actually happen.
This is what I’ve been trying to explain to Marcus Dixon. The show and Maslany are not in the same position they were last year, they’ve both exploded. If the reviews continue to be positive, and the ratings for the premiere are as good as expected, the buzz will only grow and there’ll be no denying Maslany. She’s no worse than 5th on the list – unless ratings are crap, in which case it’s an uphill battle.April 18, 2014 at 7:03 am #315579
four episodes were sent to the critics, right?April 18, 2014 at 7:23 am #315580
The right world for it would be “It bombed”
I’m prepared to eat* my shit if this improves, I do love good acting and writing. But the first season sucked.April 18, 2014 at 7:28 am #315581
Offer your shade in doses. It just becomes tiresome otherwise.
If you didn’t at all care for season one I doubt you’ll like season two which begins even more twisty and haphazardly.
