1. The Crown
2. Stranger Things
4. Better Call Saul
5. The Americans
7. House of Cards (I’m very curious to see whether last season is as bad as they say)
8. This is Us
9. The Handmaid’s Tale
10. The Leftovers
11. Mr. Robot
12. Orange is the New Black
13. Ray Donovan
I’m probably being (too) conservative, but the Emmys often are too.

In my opinion, The Americans and Better Call Saul are certain to be nominated again. New shows certain to join them are The Crown, Stranger Things and Westworld.
House of Cards should return. Mr. Robot and Homeland will probably be snubbed because of competition, but since I’m skeptical about This Is Us and The Handmaid’s Tale, I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them nominated once again.
Outside these, I think The Leftovers has more chances than 13 Reasons Why and any other show.June 18, 2017 at 11:19 am #1202125080
Westworld & Stranger Things are absolutely locked, especially how strong they’ve performed elsewhere. The Crown seems pretty safe. Better Call Saul is easily in and the safest of the returning shows. The upward trajectory for The Americans means I can’t see it missing. I have This is Us and House of Cards in the last two spots. I think Homeland’s time is up and Mr Robot is not the hot show it was last year. This is Us is risky as it’s a network show, but I think there’s enough industry support.

I see hunter is still delusional about 13 reasons why.
He’s confusing the Emmys with the People’s Choice Awards
its a critically acclaimed show that almost everybody watched. To be nominated, voters check 10 different dramas. The order does not matter. Do most voters even watch 10 dramas? Almost everybody watched 13 Reasons Why. It was hugely popular and despite some people hating it, it has been mostly met with praise.jasonfaceParticipantJoined:Nov 13th, 2015Topics:0Posts:1111June 18, 2017 at 11:40 am #1202125115

I very much doubt most Emmy voters gave 13 Reasons Why the time of day. Any buzz was generated by the teenage demographic. It’s certainly not prestige nor “critically acclaimed”.June 18, 2017 at 12:09 pm #1202125175

It’s certainly not prestige nor “critically acclaimed”.
It has an 8.6 on IMDB, a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 76 on Metacritic, the last season of Game of Thrones won best Drama series at the Critics choice with a 73 on Metacritic. If you want to argue its prestige, it has an Oscar winner directing the pilot.
Most of the buzz is from the 25 and under crowd, which contains a very small amount of academy members.
Is this really true though? Yes a lot of people up to the age of about 35 watched it and created the buzz but does that age bracket really matter that much when it comes to the Emmys?
Please go back in the Stranger Things forums. Everybody was saying that the demographic was too young and that its not an Emmy show. That is exactly what people are saying about 13 Reasons Why. The buzz was so huge that everybody is watching it. Hell, my mom called me to tell me that she binged the whole show, and she hates TV.
The Emmys’s are different now. They work hard to always go for the cool show. 13 Reasons Why is for sure a “cool show”. It has critical acclaim (fight me), popularity, and buzz. I am not confident in predicting it, I have it in 7th place, but I don’t think it should be discounted.Lord Freddy BlackfyreParticipantJoined:Nov 3rd, 2011Topics:2Posts:1293June 18, 2017 at 12:26 pm #1202125188
4-Better Call Saul
8-This Is Us
9-The Handmaid’s Tale
10-Homeland/House of Cards (only because bad taste is sometime strong in the academy. Neither deserve to be in the top 100)eastwestParticipantJoined:Jun 6th, 2011Topics:117Posts:3542June 18, 2017 at 12:27 pm #1202125189
13 Reasons Why is in consideration and the behind the scenes talent definitely gives it prestige. It’s not getting in before This Is Us or Homeland.jf123ParticipantJoined:Feb 15th, 2014Topics:96Posts:1945June 18, 2017 at 12:32 pm #1202125192
The GOT Metacritic score from last year is only from the first episode. The season got significantly more critically acclaimed as time went on. And IMDB is not a valid source on whether or not something is critically acclaimed.
And Stranger Things was much more of a phenomenon than 13 Reasons Why was.
