I think Tracey Ullman should be in the discussion a lot more. She’s a huge name with voters and she’s incredible in her show and would be a very deserving nominee.bossParticipantJoined:Aug 14th, 2016Topics:2Posts:146June 15, 2017 at 11:25 am #1202122002
Then again, Lily Tomlin keeps getting nominated, so maybe comedy lead actress is much less competitive than drama lead actor.
I seriously think if she gets nominated, it will be because she was nominated twice before in that category. Do the voters still watch that show? Of course, she has the name but Rae, Waller-Bridge, Adlon, and even Dunham ,because of Girls’ final season, may have more passion votes. There will be also Janney this year who might steal her name-checking votes.Andrew CardenParticipantJoined:Jan 16th, 2016Topics:16Posts:2030kancovParticipantJoined:Jun 7th, 2016Topics:1Posts:85June 19, 2017 at 12:32 pm #1202126238
I’m still not sure who to put at my #6. Currently it’s Issa Rae, but I can easily change it to Phoebe Waller-Bridge or even Rachel Bloom.smurty11ParticipantJoined:Sep 7th, 2014Topics:15Posts:568June 19, 2017 at 1:38 pm #1202126302
Dark Horse: TCA nominee Kristen Bell.pulp50ParticipantJoined:Feb 13th, 2017Topics:21Posts:1710June 19, 2017 at 1:47 pm #1202126313
I can see the good place surprising, I don’t understand why people are so dismissive of it. It’s Kristen Bell (not an emmy magnet but still, she’s respected I think), Ted Danson, and the creator of the office and parks and Rec. It wasn’t a huge hit, but I feel like it had some buzz. It was also a really big critical hit and one of the most original new shows. Definitely a long shot, but not out of the realm of possibility.bossParticipantJoined:Aug 14th, 2016Topics:2Posts:146June 19, 2017 at 1:55 pm #1202126323
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is coming for that nomination. She is definitely more likely than Kristen Bell.June 19, 2017 at 2:20 pm #1202126355

Because I’m a fan of it. And you run the risk of ridicule for coming out in support of the show.June 19, 2017 at 2:41 pm #1202126380
Dark Horse: TCA nominee Kristen Bell.
😀 😀 😀
And right in the middle of Emmy voting. The Good Place is VERY FORKING MUCH IN THE COMEDY DERBY. I can deal with the Amazon show that gets maybe 10 viewers made the cut. But the one shot the TCA’s had to get the best actress in there, they aced it.dsps84ParticipantJoined:Jun 18th, 2012Topics:3Posts:413June 19, 2017 at 3:34 pm #1202126472
Switching to Bell for the last slot. It helps that she’s a TV vet who everybody knows.eastwestParticipantJoined:Jun 6th, 2011Topics:117Posts:3541June 19, 2017 at 6:27 pm #1202126563
I watched the pilot of Fleabag and didn’t care for it at all.RileyParticipantJoined:Oct 11th, 2010Topics:81Posts:10967June 19, 2017 at 6:33 pm #1202126571
I found the pilot a bit grating, but few comedies are fully-formed in their pilots. FYC: Fleabagjf123ParticipantJoined:Feb 15th, 2014Topics:96Posts:1945
