The season so far has been amazing. The last episode “Nora” ranks up there for me w/a series best. Watching this cast interact is one of the highlights of my day when I get to see the show. Love that Amber helped out Max w/his apology to their cousin. The Crosby and Kristina scenes were fun too. And it looks like John Corbertt’s role will be bigger than last season due to USOT being cancelled and from this episode, that storyline should be promising. Going to say it and don’t care, this is the best primetime drama on the air.

It’s up there but it isn’t the best.

Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Justified are all better.  Probably the best network drama though.  This season has been great and Michael B. Jordan deserves an emmy nomination for Guest Acting.

So menat network drama lol. Like I have mentioned in the Breaking Bad thread, that show set the bar for all of the other dramas. But for my money, this is the best network drama.

I agree with you eastwest. One of the best shows on tv. Enjoying the 3rd season a lot so far. I just love the dynamic between the characters. Crosby and Adam working together has been great, especially in the last episode where they kind of reversed their roles, aka Adam being more enthusiastic and Crosby the worried one. The show is at its best when they mix the characters interaction. The family is so big and there´s so many ways who can interact with whom in every episode. The best example is Amber teaching Max to apologize. Very powerful scene. Even though they are cousins we never saw them interact before. All the actors are so great.
It such a joy to be part of this family every Tuesday evening.

Critics love this show, I wish more people would give it a try.

I know it’s pretty impossible but how much would be great Golden Globes or SAG mentioning this show somwhere?
Yes it’s not a hot edgy cable drama, but it’s so well written and acted. It’s getting better year after year when most shows usually dip in quality.

That would be amazing and would put it on Emmy radar. It’s the best network drama imo. I would rather see it as the “representative” than The Good Wife. The cast and the writing on Parenthood are amazing and it keeps getting better. Is it a problem that it airs on NBC? Or something else?

I visited Los Angeles back in September and went to Universal Studios. I managed to get on the VIP Tour and we got to go on the Parenthood soundstage. It was so cool!!!!  One cool tidbit, there are pics of the cast in one of the rooms of the house. Was it the kitchen? Oh gosh I can’t recall. When I get my act together, I will organize myself and post pics.

Definitely one of the best Network Dramas.  Fringe is quite stellar but is Sci-Fi.  Definitely would rather see Parenthood get in over TGW though.

Oh Fringe, how could I forget? But that will never be nominated no matter how great it is. For me it’s probably a tie between Parenthood and Fringe.

I would put Parenthood in over a lot of shows that were nominated last year, even cable series.  Dexter and Boardwalk come to mind.  I haven’t seen Game of Thrones and doubt I will unless my roommates decide they want HBO.

My dream Drama nominees would be:

    Breaking Bad
    Justified
    Fringe
    Parenthood
    Mad Men
    Damages

And I’m OK with Game of Thrones based on what I’ve heard about it if there was a seventh nominee

I can’t put my support behind a season I haven’t seen, though Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Justified, etc. could all very well have excellent seasons. Fringe hasn’t had a very good start to its season. TGW should be no where near a series nod based on its season’s first five/six episodes.

My drama series picks based on this season thus far:

    1. Breaking Bad
    2. Homeland (could replace BB as my first pick if quality holds up)

    3. Damages
    4. The Vampire Diaries
    5. Fringe

    6. Boardwalk Empire

My pick would be the same as yours robbypop except I would trade Damages (haven’t seen it) for Game of Thrones. I haven’t seen Homeland though

Watch Damages new season if you can.  It was a huge step up from previous seasons and the last season sounds like it will be amazing.

I watched the free pilot  onDemand of Homeland and it didn’t move me.  But I was drunk.

And my support is based on or around what I expect.  I reserve the right to change my mind down the road.

    .

That’s why I watched the pilot a couple of days after the Sunday games. It’s been excellent. Could be my number one show of the year… if it can keep it together.
