It’s a bit sad also here at GoldDerby no one has interest in discussing TV most underrated drama.
Do you think the show will survive in its Thursday timeslot against Scandal and Elementary?
I think it will always lose, but probably doing better than what NBC did for years in the same timeslot.
Anyway NBC really should have kept the show on less competitive Tuesday night and moved stronger and raising Chicago Fire on Thursdays.October 3, 2013 at 4:43 am #303952
Is it even airing yet?January 25, 2014 at 8:19 am #303953
This show exists!
Any thoughts about Sam Jaeger and Erika Christensen work during the past weeks?January 25, 2014 at 8:26 am #303954
I love this show. I have supported this show from the beginning. I love the diversity.January 26, 2014 at 6:44 am #303955
I had a dream last night where Joy Bryant got a globe nomination like monica potter did this year.
This show is amazing. I think that they need to try to push for Monica Potter again because the emmy’s could feel bad, but she needs the storyline to do it. Erika has probably been actress they focused on this year but it hasn’t worked that well because she kinda just cries all the time and its not amazing because the storyline has been dragging. also Ray romano deserves a guest actor nomination! (or maybe supporting by now? I don’t know) I can’t wait for this show to come back!!January 26, 2014 at 7:39 am #303956
And that’s exactly the problem for Potter. Usually when these shows go big for a character, they let it down the following season. I don’t think Potter will get something as good like the cancer storyline last year, and the election storyline seems like it was it for Christina this year as far as big moments go. Sure, something else can happen, but in a cast this big, it seems like she already had her moment. I wouldn’t put it past the Emmys to react a season too late and nominate her for lesser material now.
As for Bryant, sorry but I don’t see it. That’s one of the smallest and most disappointing characters for me on this show. (I don’t know if meant it as just a comment about a dream or a real wish).
It seems like we’re going to get a lot of moments for Amber and specially Julia. And a bit for Zeke, Millie and Romano’s character.
I also agree that the Julia and Joel needs to blow up because right now it’s kind of boring.January 26, 2014 at 5:34 pm #303957
So, I finall caught up with and I have to say I find almost every
storyline more interesting than Julia and Joel’s plight. Earlier in the
season I thought she was beeing too stubborn, cold, and glib and now I
think he’s being too stubborn, cold, and glib, so i don’t care for
either character much right now. The best storylines for me, honestly,
are Ramono’s arc with Max, Aspergers, and his relationship with Graham
and surpisingly Drew’s college stuff with his ex and the new girl has
been somewhat refreshing. Probably because they haven’t bogged it down
with a ton of melodrama yet and feels pretty honest at this point. I
never cared for Ambers relationship with the kid from FNL and thought
hadie’s relationship with Michael B. Jordan worked way better on this
show so I wasn’t sad to see that end. So far, this has probably been
the weakest season of the show (a re-tread of Millie’s bored and a
wildflower that Zeke’s shadow can no longer block out the sun… bleh)
but this show has never been great and remains good. Which is all I
expect from it.March 28, 2014 at 12:14 pm #303958
I love the show and sometimes I like to remember it’s yet on the air.
Last night it got a small bump, posting its best numers since October, despite usual weak lead-ins.
The numbers are really small but, in a classic Parenthood style, consistent.
Staying on Tuesday probably it would have performed better..on Thursday is doing respectable just considered other scripted series that aired in that timeslot over the past few years. And again, the weakness of lead-in show.
Big question: a sixth season?!
