Here is the link to our story today about ABC’s Emmy campaign for this year…April 26, 2012 at 2:48 pm #242989
They submit nine people for Scandal, but not Emmy nominee, second-billed Henry Ian Cusick?April 26, 2012 at 2:49 pm #242990
Both Missing and The River are now in Miniseries? Clearly they aren’t being renewed. This is absolutely out of hand. Last year Downton, Abbey, a drama series, screwed every actual miniseries and telefilm out of a win (poor Mildred Pierce) and now everyone else has taken notice and doing the same. The miniseries/telefilm categories are now becoming as botched as the Guest Acting categories (AKA Supporting Actor Category 2 and Supporting Actress Category 2). FIX THIS, ACADEMY.
I assume Ashley Judd is now in with Julianne and Nicole?

Wow. A lot of interesting choices.
Grey’s Anatomy: a lot of supporting people aren’t submitted. Sara Ramirez and Justin Chambers among others.
Once Upon a Time: Robert Carlyle in Lead? That’s a big mistake.
Cougar Town: Christa Miller in Lead? And no Busy Phillips in supporting or any supporting male?
Desperate Housewives: No Vanessa Williams? And wasn’t Kathryn Joosten in Supporting?
GCB: Kristin Chenoweth in Lead? That means she has no chance at a nomination.
I hope Jimmy Kimmel gets in. He’s very funny.April 26, 2012 at 3:43 pm #242992
I was hoping that we’d get some news about the Hallmark Hall of Fame productions and Titanic, but I guess those were not produced by ABC, so they’re not here.
Drama Series is pretty much as expected (just no Pan Am), but I’m surprised to see Carlyle in lead, no Madewke, and no submissions for Grey’s Anatomy’s Chambers, Dane, Drew, Leigh, Ramirez, or Williams or Private Practice’s Daly.
Comedy Series is where the biggest surprises are. With just the three shows to glean, I am amazed at no male performers submitted other than Bakula in guest, Miller jumping up to lead, Chenoweth in lead and Bibb in supporting (I thought for sure it would be reversed if anything), and no Phillips or Williams at all. I assume many more actors from these shows will submit themselves, but it sure does look scant to me.

Leslie Bibb is NOT supporting in the very least; I haven’t watched for a few episodes but the ones I did see were focused on Bibb’s character.
And as much as I love Missing it isn’t a miniseries. There are interviews with the creators stating that the show had the longevity to last past one series.
The Emmy’s obviously do not mind being defrauded.April 26, 2012 at 4:26 pm #242994
In looking back at my spreadsheets from the past two years, ABC in particular does not submit a lot of their eligible people under the network umbrella. Many will submit on their own, so we’ll probably see them on the Emmy ballot in June. I have also been told that some of the people you don’t see have become frustrated at not being nominated and aren’t even going to bother with it.April 26, 2012 at 4:36 pm #242995
Christa Miller is leading? Kristin Chenoweth is leading but Leslie Bibb supporting? OMFG! This is so ridiculous. And TV movie/mini series is becoming a freaking joke! I wouldn’t mind at all if Ashley Judd was nominated for leading actress but in DRAMA SERIES where the show belongs. We treat these awards with more resect than the people actually involved with television. I cannot look at this silly joke anymore. Category fraud after category fraud…April 26, 2012 at 4:39 pm #242996
There is no such thing as category fraud. You do what you have to do to have the best chance at a nomination or win. That goes for any awards show, any category, any time IMO.April 26, 2012 at 5:08 pm #242997
Kristen Chenoweth will now have to rely on her Hot in Cleveland appearance to receive her yearly nomination.April 26, 2012 at 5:11 pm #242998
“Don’t Trust The Bitch In Apartment 23” will be placed by another studio, or have they simply decided to not campaign for it yet?April 26, 2012 at 5:52 pm #242999

I call it what it is. It’s cheating. I’d rather not be nominated at all than be nominated in wrong category.April 26, 2012 at 7:37 pm #243000
No mention of Suburgatory?
Christa Miller in lead is a joke. If anything, takes away from twice snubbed Courteney Cox, but neither will happen anyway.
This seems like somewhat of a free-for-all but “category fraud” exsists everywhere and like Boomer said: in every awards show….April 26, 2012 at 10:26 pm #243001
How awkward would it be if Christa Miller was nominated for Cougar Town but Courteney Cox was snubbed. That would be a huge slap in the face…

Miriam Shor is the funniest actress and gives the best performance on GCB and theyre not campaigning for her? Let’s hope she submits herself then. However, Annie Potts and Chenoweth would be good nominations for the show as well. Leslie Bibb, however hot she may be, is not good at all and shouldnt even be campaigned for.
