Am i the only one here that feels its a shame that this show has been ignored not only by the Emmys but people in general ? Please spare me the stuff your going to say about the first because hit its true stride in season 2, 3 and the recent 4. season’s 3 and 4 in paticular were some of the best television out there. But even season 1 deep at its core had some truly great gems ov tv in terms of characters, story, the whole nine yards. I feel like season 3 and 4 deserved emmy consideration HEAVILY especially the past season 4. at the most i feel like this year Amy Acker deserves a spot in Best supporting actress for drama or Michael Emerson in Best actor
I watched the first 3 seasons of the show but left during season 4. Michael Emerson is fantastic, as he is in almost everything he does, but the show just got too far fetched and confusing for me to move on. I am assuming the supporting actress you are talking about is Samantha Groves?
yes Amy Acker as Samantha Groves/Root, her season 4 performance throughout especially towards the tail end of the season was outstanding. I love the Samaritan arch of season 4. the show is heavily overlooked from an emmy perspective.
Emerson and Acker’s joint scenes are by far my favorite moments on the show. I remember watching the 3×06 ending scene and getting goosebumps all over, even though all they did was having a brief – albeit tense – conversation. They could just read the phone book to each other in character for all I care, I would be probably still glued to the screen. The whole cast is excellent though, and more importantly, they play off of each other rather well.
I only started watching the show recently, since I’m actually more here for those wacky far-fetched and sci-fi elements than the procedural drama, but I doubt that that’s how most of the Emmy voters see it. If they didn’t embrace the show back when it’s started, it’s doubtful that they would start now.
Honestly the emmys this year for me are Amy and Michael or bust. bust being i don’t watch. didn’t watch last years for the same reason. I just want amy acker to get that moment, she’s been underrated for years. i wish more people would watch the show and realize its the sci fi elements that really make this show click. they act like its terminator. and if it isn’t that its the people who were to lazy and gave up during the first two seasons.
