What a cast. In America, this is an Amazon original series.

This sounds amazing. That cast and crew! Why did AMC pull out?

I don’t have Amazon Prime, shit! They are only 2 or 3 more hit shows away from making me want to get it. I actually read Phillip K. Dick’s short story “The Father-Thing” and it looks like that will be one of the stories that they are adapting! I really hope that do it properly, because I always dreamed that David Lynch would adapt that story as a nice solid short film. Still, as an episode of an anthology, I can only hope that it will satisfy.

This has nothing to do with Starz, by the way. I think that the thread is so titled because the linked trailer is from the Australian network Stan.

Benedict Wong is having quite to career boost. Marco Polo was cancelled but right before that he was in The Martian and after he was in Doctor Strange, Black Mirror, and now this. Good for him. I’ve always liked him so I hope he continues to get steady work.

I had no idea Monae was in this. I didn’t see her in the trailer. I am a huge fan of her as an actress. I’m 10X more excited for this now! Another opportunity for the Emmys to fix the Oscars being stupid. Spencer getting in over her hurts my heart.

Very exciting! Looks great. I wonder how it’ll fare against the inevitable Black Mirror comparisons.

Set in a dystopian, 1970s-ish London blighted by limited technology and civil unrest, The Hood Maker follows Agent Ross (Madden) and his telepathic partner Honor (Grainger) as they investigate unrest between the oppressed mindreading “Teeps” and regular humans, while tracking down a mysterious figure making thought-proof hoods.

Written & Directed by: David Farr
Based on: The Impossible Planet by Philip K. Dick
Air date: Sunday 24th September, 9pm Channel 4

Two bitter space tourism employees (Reynor and Wong) take up a confused old woman’s (Chaplin) request for a trip back to Earth – despite the existence of the planet having now become a long-debunked myth. But as time goes on, their scam takes an unusual turn…

Cast: Timothy Spall, Hayley Squires, Tuppence Middleton
    Written by: Jack Thorne
Based on: The Commuter by Philip K. Dick

A lowly train station employee (Spall) discovers to his great alarm that many commuters are taking a train to an unusual location – a town that shouldn’t exist.

    Written by: Ronald D Moore
Based on: Exhibit Piece by Philip K. Dick
    Air date: Sunday 8th October

A policewoman from the future (Paquin) finds herself connected to a brilliant game designer from the present (Howard) through an unusual piece of technology, with the pair hunting violent killers who have devastating plans. But when it turns out their connection could be the end of them both, will they be able to break it?

    Episode 5: Crazy Diamond

    Written by: Tony Grisoni
Based on: Sales Pitch by Philip K Dick
    Air date: Sunday 15th October

Boat-lover Ed Morris (Buscemi) leads an ordinary life in a sanitised, heavily-controlled world – but when an enticing synthetic woman (Knudsen) tries to get him involved with a daring heist, his life, career and marriage start to crumble around him.

    Episode 6: Human Is
Cast: Bryan Cranston, Essie Davis, Liam Cunningham, Ruth Bradley

Based on: Human Is by Philip K. Dick

Yes, it was horrible, begging the question of why it is first when they are all standalone.
