Any submitted episode of Fleabag. It is the best comedy of 2016.

The Good Place says, in the words of ESPN college football analyst Lee Corso, “not so fast, my friend.” The weakest episode of The Good Place runs laps around the ‘best’ episode of Fleabag.

Oh, so you actually watched “Fleabag” after trashing it multiple times on this site? I must assume so, otherwise you wouldn’t have the knowledge to make a statement like that and this would just be the post of an angry troll. So how’d you like it?

Was going to say that one too. 🙂 Best episode all season besides PTSDEE and Old Lady House: A Situation Comedy in my opinion.

Yaaaasss! This one too. Such a strong , funny & dark half hour of TV. It should win the category tbh. R.I.P Carrie Fisher <3

Any submitted episode of Fleabag. It is the best comedy of 2016.

I interviewed Phoebe Waller-Bridge and she says that she submitted the first episode. She also said that she would submit the same for acting, with the finale being so dramatic for a comedy race.

“American Bitch”, Girls – Powerful stuff. The final season of Girls was a bit lackluster for me, but this bottle episode is on a league of its own.

“Fish Out of Water”, BoJack Horseman – Perhaps the best episode from a comedic series I’ve seen in  a while.

“Elizah”, Transparent – Perfect set-up for the spiritual tone of season 3.

“The Thief”, Master of None – I haven’t watched the entire second season, and I’m sure there are amazing episodes waiting for me, but “The Thief ” itself is such a wonderful treat of an episode.

Thanks for asking, as you do every year. My pick is The Last Sunday Funday, You’re the Worst. I have nothing to say, beside the fact that it’s the tv episode that made me laugh the most this season. And it’s also one of the most creative episode I’ve seen. I could have picked the previous episode, which is equally extraordinary, but the category is called “Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series” so I went for the comic one.

that one will definitely make my personal list. I loved it. And I also thought Twenty-two was great but that will make my Directing list, not my writing list.

I think “The Thief” for Master of None would be a better Directing nom. “Thanksgiving” or “Religion” should be the writing submissions (and should win).
