I don’t like predicting character deaths for a show I watch and enjoy.

I am predicting it, but I do find it hard to do well in this contest especially. I think the idea that some people can get these giant scores for the same questions should be tweaked. I’m all for giving an advantage for going your own way and not choosing with the herd, but there shouldn’t be a big gap for the same predictions. This week for example, I got all the questions right, and I got way fewer points than the contest leader. I have said this before, but I do find it hard to continue predicting, knowing that even if I get perfect, I still have no shot at winning. I know other people probably feel differently, but I wouldn’t mind if there was a more balanced system.

To me, it’s simple. Call me crazy, but I don’t watch the show. It’s why I don’t predict on this forum. I cannot have an opinion on something that I know little about. I prefer to leave it to the fine folks who love this show.

Why is not being a viewer of the show not an option?

Yikes. THAT is outrageous! Sorry about this. Obviously, we’re having a problem with the odds. I’ll get on it and we’ll fix it. TX

Giving people percentage accuracy scores would be the way to go. That’s how we do it for all awards shows, so TV Derby should be the same. The points should solely be for determining tie-breakers.

Using this method, ETPhoneHome would have received 100% this week. In the event of a tie, that’s when we should go to the odds to see who scored the most points. Make sense?

To me, predicting character deaths is pointless when it doesn’t happen that frequently. Like, last season we had 2 main character deaths (Hershel and the Governor). Then the 2 sisters, who were hardly main characters. Is a prediction center really necessary for that?

This season, Bob was dead on arrival so that doesn’t count (who was surprised he was the first to die, let’s be real). I don’t know, part of me just likes predicting awards better.

Question: We are limited to one 200 point bet for this contest correct? There currently isnt a limit on how many categories you can spend 200 on. And sure enough some people have taken advantage of this.

I tape the entire season so I can binge watch it after it ended cause hate having to wait a week in such a suspensful show. Hence I know nothing about this season and wouldn´t want to spoil anything. Maybe other people do the same?

The point system for all of the reality shows I’ve tried predicting is very messed up, I know another poster already mentioned it but after getting a bunch of perfect scores and being beaten by like 10000 points by someone who only got one right I’m over it.

I’m also a bit worried about spoilers because The Walking Dead is based on a comic book and the readers of it could skew the odds

SanityFair, just to clarify, the point totals are only used in the event of a tie. We go by percentage accuracies now, just like we do for all awards shows. So keep on getting those perfect scores. Hope that helps!

And Sam, our tech guys are working on fixing the 200-point free-for-alls as we speak. Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention.

Wow, what a great episode that was!
