Sorry for creating a new topic, but I wanted to just start a discussion to see which Emmy records could be broken/tied next year

    • If Julia Louis-Dreyfus wins again for Veep, she will join Allison Janney in the six-timers club, along with Art Carney, Tyne Daly, Carl Reiner and Tim Conway
    • If Allison Janney wins again for Mom, she will join Ed Asner and Mary Tyler Moore with seven wins. If she wins Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series again, she will join Cloris Leachman as the actor with the most Emmys (Janney is probably going to repeat her win for Mom several times, so she will likely overtake Leachman)
    • If Modern Family wins Outstanding Comedy Series again, it will be the all-time winner for Programming, in both Comedy and Drama (what a terrifying thought)

I am not sure about this one, but would Louis C.K. be the person to win the most purely for writing? He has five Emmys for writing now, and I don’t even think people like Carl Reiner have that many.

What a terrible (but probable) thought. I hope Jane Krakowski delivers a powerhouse performance in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

If Parsons wins a fifth, won’t he set a whole new record for lead comedy actor winners? Will he have the most?

    PLEASE NOT MODERN FAMILY RECORD
I THINK  JANNEY JOIN THE LEGENDARY MARY TYLER MOORE  NEXT YEAR AND THE ACADEMY AWARD WINNER CLORIS LEACHMAN IN TWO YEARS
I THINK THE WONDERFUL JESSICA LANGE JOIN IN THE MINI SERIE MOVIE CATEGORY DAME HELEN MIRREN NEXT YEAR

Yes, he will. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but will be the second person to win Comedy Lead Actor for three consecutive years?

As unlikely as it is at this point, if Mad Men wins for its final season, it will break the Drama Series record.

If Jon Hamm is beaten for Best Actor next year, he will be at 0-8, maintaining his status as biggest loser in the category.

Jane Krakowski will play a recurring character, so she may compete as a guest actress.

I think OITNB deserves to win for the second season, and I really want to see Veep win, but I would actually love it if Modern Family broke the all time record. It is not the best comedy in history, but I think its among them and deserves all its wins (even if others have deserved it as well over the years).

If Tatiana Maslany gets snubbed once again she will become the first woman to ever be criminally snubbed three times in a row causing the internet to explode with anger and despair.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Lauren Graham want to introduce themselves. Emmy Rossum too.

I don’t think any of them ever reached the Internet phenomenon that Maslany currently holds in her bare hands. They are all worthy though.

So I really doubt MF will win best comedy again. If they do, it will be great to see but OISTNB and TBBT are coming to claim that awards soon. Also, JLD winning next year is probably going to happen unless someone really submits perfectly and wins.

What about Kristen Bell (for Veronica Mars)?  Wasn’t her / the show’s snub one of the reasons the Academy started its brief “semi-final round” in the series and acting categories (and, IIRC, neither Bell nor the series even made it that far)?

Does breaking your own record count?  James L. Brooks can win his 21st Emmy if The Simpsons wins for Animated Program.
