My gut says (without any episode info):

Drama: GoT, *Spacey, *Wright, *Haringtson, Headey, *Michael J Fox, Metcalf, “Battle of the Bastards” (GoT) for writing and directing

Comedy: *Tambor, JLD, *Walsh, *Hoffman, Larry David, not sure for guest actress, “Mother” (Veep) for writing and directing

    Limited: OJ
    TV Movie: *All the Way
    Movie actor: *Cranston
    Movie actress: Paulson
    Supp actress: *Jean Smart
    Supp. actor: *Jesse Plemons

    Asterisks for maybes

Drama Supporting Actress is a really hard one to pick:

I think the Game of Thrones ladies will split votes from each other and ruin each others chances of winning. But I don’t see Maggie Smith winning due to the under performance of Downton Abbey. But then that leaves us with Tierny and Zimmer, and despite being the two most deserving in this category, they have no shot of winning.

I don’t see the Game of Thrones ladies splitting the vote.

Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke will win. They’re by far the most popular characters and actors in the categories. Kit has the best tape on his own. When you factor in GOT Episodes 4, 9, and 10 all getting submitted then Clarke has the best tape(s) in her category as well.

Factor in the new popularity rules with the old tape submissions I don’t see how there is an argument for anyone else.

Its a perfect storm for these two to win together.

The reason I think the GoT ladies will split is because this time it’s three, not two of them, and I see strong backing for each one of them. On the other hand, no Uzo, so who knows. Smith could be their chance for a farewell hug to Downton.

    VEEP (obvious, lock)
Louis-Dreyfus (should be a lock with Mother)
Tambor (nobody else can win here)
Burgess (won’t happen, but should happen).
Janney (sad but true, no competition, no obvious “Janney fatigue” excuse)
    Writing: Veep, Mother
    Directing: Transparent

    Game of Thrones
Spacey or Malek (the young curse will hit him)
    Wright or Davis
    Sup Actor: no idea
Sup Actress: Zimmer or Tierney, just a wild guess that won’t happen. Everybody splits and Maggie Smith wins. Wait for it.
    Writing/Directing: Game of Thrones

    Veep is winning everything.
Drama Supp. Actress – Tierny and Zimmer can’t win.Vote split among the GoT ladies and Maggie Smith wins. You’ll see.
Spacey and Wright are now locks in my opinion.
Laurie Metcalf should definitely win at least one of those three nominations.
    Tambor winning Comedy Actor.
    Janney goes for the record.
Baranski’s “Sorry we snubbed you” Emmy for The Big Bang Theory.

Gold Derby TV Awards FYC: Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life - Limited Series, Movie/Mini Actress (Lauren Graham), Movie/Mini Supp. Actress (Kelly Bishop)

Harrington/Dinklage have more odds of splitting the vote than the GOT ladies do. Harrington/Dinklage are equally popular characters.

Emilia Clarke there is no contest between the other two ladies in popularity.

People vote based on popularity that is all that explains Maisie getting in over Sophie Turner.

Spacey gives me a strong Hugh Laurie/House vibe. Yes, he keeps winning SAG and the Globe, but there’s so much hate for that performance and a certain fatigue for his persona out there. The fourth-wall breaking puts off a lot of people, and that character has never had a likeable scene in the entire show (unlike Wright). The path for him is hard because of Odenkirk and Malek. I’m thinking Malek because Mr. Robot is back in the conversation with the new season, but could certainly be Odenkirk – and Spacey, obviously, but I hesitate as of now.

If Clarke/Daenerys as a character was that popular, why was Headey nominated for season 4 when she wasn’t? I think all 3 will split the vote leaving Smith to win, which I’d be happy about (Clarke and Williams didn’t deserve nominations).

Small difference: they’ve already awarded Dinklage before, so they’re free to go somewhere else.
