    Very early predictions:

DRAMA SERIES – The Crown (but it’s definitely not a lock. it’s a five way race between The Crown, Westworld, Stranger Things, The Handmaid’s Tale and This Is Us… so far)
    COMEDY SERIES – Veep
LIMITED SERIES – Big Little Lies
ACTRESS / DRAMA – Claire Foy (Elisabeth Moss is close behind)
ACTOR / DRAMA – Matthew Rhys (maybe Kevin Spacey? And I can’t see the “This is Us” actors splitting votes)
SUPPORTING ACTRESS / DRAMA – Thandie Newton
SUPPORTING ACTOR / DRAMA – John Lithgow
    ACTRESS / COMEDY – Julia Louis-Dreyfus
ACTOR / COMEDY – Donald Glover
SUPPORTING ACTRESS / COMEDY – Anna Chlumsky (yeah, vote splitting)

    Drama Series
“Westworld” (ONLY because it over-performed so much and has an Editing nomination, unlike The Handmaid’s Tale and The Crown. Stranger Things could still win, but for now I think Westworld is a safe bet.)

    Drama Series
3 Way Race between The Handmaid’s Tale, The Crown and Stranger Things.

    Drama Actor
Bob Odenkirk, Better Call Saul. Even without Milo Ventimiglia getting nominated I don’t think that Sterling K. Brown would have taken it.

    Drama Actress
Leaning towards Elisabeth Moss, The Handmaid’s Tale but Claire Foy, The Crown is a real threat. This race is probably one of the closest.

    Drama Supporting Actor
    John Lithgow, The Crown

    Drama Supporting Actress
    Thandie Newton, Westworld
(Dark Horse: Double nominee Ann Dowd, The Handmaid’s Tale)

    Comedy Series
    Veep

    Comedy Actor
Writer-director-actor Donald Glover could win for writing or directing and like Aziz Ansari last year lose out on Actor to Jeffrey Tambor but Transparent was dropped from series and got no writing or directing noms. I think that SAG winner William H. Macy will finally win for Shameless.

    Comedy Actress
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep (But recent Golden Globe winner Tracee Ellis Ross could stop her from 6 in a row)

    Comedy Supporting Actor
Before the noms, I would have said Tituss Burgess, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. But the love that SNL got from the actors branch means they’re watching it and Baldwin’s impersonation has been everywhere. Maybe a win for two time winner Alec Baldwin could be the television academy’s way of sticking it to the administration.

    Comedy Supporting Actress
Judith Light, Transparent. I know what I said about Transparent earlier but Kathryn Hahn surprised so the actors are watching it, right? She’s overdue and vote splitting could (maybe but probably not because she has Hillary Clinton) affect Kate McKinnon.

    Miniseries
    The Night Of

    TV Movie
    Black Mirror

    Miniseries/Movie Actor
    Riz Ahmed, The Night Of

    Miniseries/Movie Actress
    Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies

    Miniseries/Movie Actor
Alfred Molina, Feud: Bette and Joan

    Miniseries/Movie Actress
    Laura Dern, Big Little Lies

    Early predictions –

Comedy Series – Veep has this completely locked.
Spoiler – Master of None because it went up in nominations, but nothing is beating Veep.

Comedy Actor – Jeffery Tambor is winning his third. Despite being dropped from Comedy Series, Transparent still got seven nominations (more than Atlanta, Blackish or Shameless). And the Acting Branch watches the show.
Spoiler – William H. Macy because of his SAG win.

    Comedy Actress– JLD (UGH!!!)
    Spoiler – I can’t see one.

Comedy Supporting Actor – I’m predicting an upset by Louie Anderson. I know most will opt for Baldwin, but Louie won last year and more importantly, Zach got nominated in lead actor. Baldwin just doing one impression may not be enough to win here, as popular as that may be.
Spoiler – Baldwin rides the SNL/Trump train to victory.

Comedy Supporting Actress – Judith Light. The actors watched Transparent, they saw what Light did in season 3. I can’t imagine them denying her the award for it. Kate McKinnon would have been my pick, but two co-stars might be too many to overcome, especially with Light being such a strong contender.
Spoiler – McKinnon rides the SNL/Hilary train to her second Emmy.

Writing – Master of None wins Aziz his second Emmy for the masterful ‘Thanksgiving’ episode. Veep and Atlanta split the vote.
Spoiler – Silicon Valley coming for the win with just one submission can upset.

Directing – Glover get his obligatory one win here.
    Spoiler – can’t see any.

Guest Actor – Chappelle had an iconic monologue and is incredibly respected and liked in the industry.
Spoiler – Laurie can win via default vote-split

Guest Actress – Haven’t made my mind yet. I feel like this category will throw us a Peter Scolari/Ben Mendelson kind of a winner.

Does Transparent being snubbed in Series mean they’re ready to move on from Tambor?

Does Transparent being snubbed in Series mean they’re ready to move on from Tambor?

It’s a bit tricky cause the show still got seven nomination and because there is enough proof now that the acting branch is responding to the show. I guess Tambor wins a third and last time before they move on, mostly because I don’t see who the alternative is? Black-ish severely underperformed so I don’t know how great Anderson’s chances are and Glover/Ansari give the type of performances that just don’t win here. They are both going to be winning directing and writing instead, respectively.

I would say to watch out for SAG winner William H.Macy and even Zach Gilifianakis. Those are the two I see most likely to upset Tambor

3 Way Race between The Handmaid’s Tale, The Crown and Stranger Things.

Did you see that Westworld got twenty-two nominations, including Writing, Directing, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Casting, Cinematography, Editing and Sound?

Does Transparent being snubbed in Series mean they’re ready to move on from Tambor?

SAG going back to William H. Macy indicated that.

Didn’t mean much when they picked ADUBA over JLD.
