ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 2:21 pm #1201957940Could Kate McKinnon be submitted here instead of supporting? She’s had such a strong season already she’d be able to take down JLD.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 2:27 pm #1201957941My hunch, at this insanely early point, is JLD, Ellie Kemper, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tracee Ellis Ross, Tracey Ullman and Kathy Bates. If the Bates show is no good, Lily Tomlin remains in.

ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 2:56 pm #1201957957Newcomers in the category I’m rooting for are Issa Rae and Kathy Bates. Sort of want Issa to win just because. Although, the possibility is there for her to win in writing.

Sight unseen, I would still be highly surprised if Ullman misses the lineup. She is an Emmy queen plus she will have HBO behind her. Sketch performances have also been embraced more lately than they have ever been. If her show hits, she may even be a viable alternative to JLD. Six in a row just seems….crazy, but if anyone can do it it’s Julia.
Edited to Add: A quick IMDb perusal and it looks like Tracey has 11 performance nominations and 23 nominations overall at my count for those who may be less familiar with her work.

LMAO. Thanks for the good laugh.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 4:02 pm #1201958003Tracey Ullman’s Show has actually been airing for the last month on HBO, so you could say that it did not “hit”. Still, she has a lot going for her. It is true that Disjointed is not confirmed to release any episodes by the deadline. As for whether it is any good, the creator is Chuck Lorre.

i love Mom, I like BBT, and I think two and a half men is terrible, so I have no idea if it will be good or not.

Lol I know you aren’t a fan of McKinnon’s, but your personal bias aside, she’s been amazing this season, has more buzz than ever for playing Clinton, already won an Emmy last season (defeating Alisson Janney who, I remember, you were so wrongly convinced was invincible), got nominated in lead by critic’s choice (although, to be honest, I’m really not giving much credit to their nominations) and will go against a competitor who’d have massive fatigue. You laughing her off makes me even more confident about her chances.
