Maggie Smith not getting nominated is very disappointed but thrilled for The Crown.

In longform, I am impressed that The Night Of broke through here, especially when Show Me A Hero did nothing last year, so this should serve it well at next year’s Emmys.

In comedy, I am thrilled that Jane Fonda made it alongisde Lily Tomlin, making her lifetime achievement award even sweeter. But no Transaprent in ensemble this year?

And in drama, the female category is a complete shock to me. Between this and the Globes list, maybe we are in for some surprises at next year’s Emmys?

Wow did not expect Sterling K. Brown to get the nod for This is Us! Love that they went against the norm this year and nominated a bunch of new shows or shows that they haven’t recognized before!

I’m happy for Brown, but he got into drama actor because of OJ. Shocking that This is Us wasn’t nominated for ensemble.

That drama actress category is a mess. Sorry, but Ryder isn’t better than a lot of the women that were snubbed.

Why is Ty Burrell always nominated? Move on!

Thrilled for Jane Fonda, she is great on that show.

Thank God Maggie Smith was snubbed.

Millie Bobby Brown getting nominated over Smith and Davis is a bit of a joke to me but happy for Stranger Things otherwise.

No love for Better Call Saul (not even Odenkirk, despite getting nodded by HFPA and winning critics choice?) No Viola Davis AND Maggie Smith?

Also Emmy winners Regina King, Louie Anderson, Ben Mendelson, Maggie Smith and Tatianna Maslany getting snubbed is the final nail in the coffin in the SAG = Emmy argument. House of cards gets 8 acting nominations at the Emmys and doesn’t even get nominated for Ensemble. It’s hilarious.

These nominations are all over the place.

No Transparent in Ensemble just does not make any sense to me.

I am glad, however, to see Orange finally get some recognition for its stellar 4th season (even if it’s namecheck)

And yes to Titus, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder,

Millie & Ryder? Nice! So happy for Stranger Things!

smh @ OITNB still getting in but whatever…really hope they don’t win again. Black-ish coulda slid in there tho.

ETA: Oh, Black-ish did make it!

SAG went with very new nominees, but the whole catch-all categories, it isn’t shocking.

Remember when I said we should have added John Lithgow to the SAG prediction center? I do.
