“Fruity” ????? Who on earth still uses words like that.
Voters should be aware.September 3, 2015 at 5:57 pm #360135
Well, in that case… VOTE FOR DAMIAN LEWIS!!!September 3, 2015 at 8:39 pm #360136
What he said makes him sound like a huge asshole. But we shouldnt grade someones performance based off their views, I think Lewis gave the best performance in the category and think he should win even though what he said was awful and makes him sound like a bigot.September 3, 2015 at 9:37 pm #360137
So based your theory…
DON’T VOTE FOR JON HAMM BECAUSE AS A FRAT BOY HE HOOKED THE CLAW OF A HAMMER UNDERNEATH A PLEDGE’S TESTICLES AND LED HIM BY THE HAMMER AROUND THE ROOM & OTHER NASTY STUFF.
That’s actually way worse than Lewis’.September 3, 2015 at 11:47 pm #360139
I think we should just ignore Damian Lewis and anything that comes out of his tiny mouth and instead concentrate on how awesome, dignified and classy Sir Ian McKellen is, and his response is perfect.
But I truly don’t think Lewis meant it in a homophobic way – to me, “fruity” just means artificial, over-the-top and hyperbolic.September 3, 2015 at 11:59 pm #360140
In what way does this make Lewis homophobic?! ‘Fruity’ means to be flamboyant and cheerful.
I think you’re just really wanting Bill Murray to win thay supporting actor race ; )September 4, 2015 at 12:33 am #360141
Well, in that case… VOTE FOR DAMIAN LEWIS!!!
Can someone add a thumbs down feature so I could give this a thumbs down
You don’t get irony, do you? Tyler was probably annoyed by this whole thing so he made an ironic comment about it….Oh dear…September 4, 2015 at 12:35 am #360142
Also, yes I agree. Don’t vote for LEwis. VOTE FOR THE BEST FINN WITTROCK! <3September 4, 2015 at 1:23 am #360143
Fruity isn’t homophobic. If it was he’d be saying that staying in the theatre would make him gay? Pretty certain that is not what Lewis meant.September 4, 2015 at 5:39 am #360144
TWO YEARS AGO Lewis issued a statement apologizing to McKellen: “I am hugely embarrassed that comments of mine have been linked in a negative way to Sir Ian McKellen. I have always been, and continue to be, an enormous fan and admirer of Sir Ian’s. He’s one of the greats and one of the reasons I became an actor. My comment in the Guardian was a soundbite I’ve been giving since 1999 – it was a generic analogy that was never intended to demean or describe anyone else’s career. I have contacted Sir Ian McKellen and have given him my sincerest apologies.”September 4, 2015 at 5:51 am #360145
Actually don’t vote for Lewis for a single reason – he’s not much of an actor. He already stole somebody else’s Emmy once.Marcus Snowden (The Artist Formerly Known as msnowden1)ParticipantSeptember 4, 2015 at 6:05 am #360146
I don’t think it’s fair not to vote for someone just because of their character. The voters for the Baseball and National Football Hall of Fame do the same thung, and it just isn’t fair.September 4, 2015 at 7:31 am #360147
This is as boring and uneventful as Lewis’s Emmy winning performance. Next.
