Stars and friends of Robin Williams will share memories of the late comedian in “Robin Williams Remembered — A Pioneers of Television Special.”
The one-hour special will feature Williams’ last full-length television interview, including never-before-seen footage and Williams’ stories from his early days as a stand-up comedian, his desire to be a dramatic actor and his efforts to entertain U.S. troops overseas.
It will also feature tributes and interviews with Williams’ friends Henry Winkler, Yakov Smirnoff, Louie Anderson, Paul Rodriguez, Rick Overton, Blake Clark, Pauly Shore and George Schlatter, as well as Penny Marshall, Whoopi Goldberg, Jerry Stiller, Jimmie Walker and Williams’ “Mork & Mindy” co-stars Pam Dawber and the late Jonathan Winters.
The special is set to air at 9 p.m., Sept. 9 on PBS SoCaL. Other PBS stations’ air dates can be found in local listings.
Thanks for letting us know! Adding it to my recording list
Looking forward to seeing this special. I figured that it would arrive relatively soon. It should be a strong Emmy contender next year.
Does anyone remember Shelley Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theatre that ran on Showtime in the 80s? Robin Williams played the Frog, in The Tale of the Frog Prince. I have the entire collection on DVD. Will watch his episode tonight, while I’m thinking of it.
