18th Satellite Awards take place March 9th. The nominations are announced tomorrow (that’s a big gap).

Wow… the gap is large! I have a soft spot for them as the only one group to reward Marcia Cross with individual win for “Desperate Housewives”. Are Film nominations coming out the same day (that being apparently today)?

Love the Uzo Aduba nod. Really cool that they recognized her out of the huge cast.

Why only 3 men for Best Mini-Series Actor and no Michael Douglas?! Especially compared to 7 women for Actress.

Always interesting! I am surprised to see Generation War nominated, as I don’t think it has been released in the United States yet, but, since these are actual foreign journalists, unlike the HFPA, I’ll forgive them that one and hope for a U.S. release soon. I am also interested at Mob City’s placement in the miniseries category. Is TNT promoting the “special event” 6 episodes in 3 weeks that way? I am sure that more nominees are due for Actor in a Miniseries or a Motion Picture Made for Television, so I’ll grant them some time to clean up the nominee lists. And this year’s annual nominee not appearing on screen during the calendar year is Louis C.K. for Louie. But, otherwise, I think that it’s a quality list of nominees!

No Bryan Cranston and “Breaking Bad” for series is even more surprising as they won 5 awards combined in the past. Something for Jessica Walter and James Wolk is nice.

No Continuum, but Orphan Black?  Again?  They were blinded by the gimmick that is Tatiana Maslany.  Again.

    Just for you, Paul…

BTW, I’ll ask again because you avoided the question last time: did you check out Orphan Black like you said you would?

I’ll always take some Enlightened, Orphan Black, Rectify love no matter the source.

What the hell is musical or comedy about Once Upon A Time? Was that show entirely re-vamped since the last time I checked it out?

^I was wondering that too. Might be a mistake. That said, there is a comedy element to watching 30 something year old actors deliver some of the cheesy lines that they are given on that show.

Anyways, I’m glad they remembered Enlightened. And glad to see Peter Sarsgaard recognized – he deserves every award possible.

As long as there’s no show which didn’t air this year on the list, then a huge stepup.
