The Emmy-nominated series will be back October 3 with a surprise addition to the cast:August 28, 2013 at 5:33 pm #295707
I never watched this show, but I’m really curious to see how Lisa handles drama.August 28, 2013 at 5:36 pm #295708
My guess is that it’s more of a comedic role anyway.August 28, 2013 at 6:09 pm #295709
Yes, I guess, but even then, it’s a totally different air from her previous works. I read somewhere she’ll play a senator.
I think this will be a role a la Matthew Perry on The Good Wife.August 28, 2013 at 7:42 pm #295710
Love Lisa Kudrow, always thought she was underrated. I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything straight dramatic, but again, not sure if that’s the role she’ll play here. If her character is like Mike Krestevea (Perry on TGW), sign me up. I’d love to see her ham it up in public and then be a cold-hearted bitch behind closed doors. I’m excited for Kudrow!August 29, 2013 at 6:19 am #295711
Kudrow…..I’m officially never going to miss an episode of Scandal now.August 29, 2013 at 6:33 am #295712
Lisa Kudrow on “Scandal”? Shocking.August 29, 2013 at 8:47 am #295713
This news seems pretty weird, but then there’s the Dan Bucantinsky connection so…maybe not so weird. I want to see how this works out. This show isn’t that dramatic anyway so maybe it won’t be like that, but hopefully it’ll be very far from what she usually does so we can see a different side of Kudrow.August 29, 2013 at 7:02 pm #295714
Kudrow can totally do dramatic. Just watch “The Opposite Of Sex”. She’ll be great.August 30, 2013 at 5:04 pm #295715
I loved me some Lucia.
I think Lisa will do great on Scandal.August 31, 2013 at 5:47 am #295717
SPOILERS if anyone doesn’t want to know about her role:
Apparently, she will be playing a Democratic senator who rises up through the primaries, and eventually faces Fitz in the election. She also apparently will go through a scandal, and visit the gladiators for some help. She will have some scenes with Dan Bucatinsky.
I got this from Yahoo! TV.September 15, 2013 at 10:04 pm #295718
So Scandal is officially an Emmy Award winning show. I wanna say this shows more love for the show than we thought, but it’s probably really just love for Dan Bucatinsky. He’s got a lot of experience wokring with a lot of people in front of an behind the camera so that probably helped him, plus he did have a very showy episode.
Hopefully this will get Scandal going into season 3 with an extra boost of buzz, not that the show really needs it. Lisa Kudrow as Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series nominee 2014?November 21, 2013 at 7:40 am #295719
Fun! Just abosolute soapy fun. And usually I would have somehing slick/shady to say about how Big Shonda is not here for her “War & Peace” being described as a soap (see, I did it lol), but after last week’s episode it would all be self loathing pontification at this point. The one-two combo of rape that produce the juicy story leg of a WTD story and #MamaPope. Also that episode showed me that the show still has a long way to go if it wants to be an ensemble piece ala TGW 2.0 especially now w/this “test run” due to Kerry’s pregnancy.December 6, 2013 at 12:13 pm #295720
Ah, here’s this sadly neglected thread. This show provided much relief for me last night after taking as much as I could of The Sound of Music Live! But, if anyone wants a quick catch-up, here’s an interview with the creator about the season so far:
And then here’s the news that this season’s episode order has been reduced to 18 episodes:
