I love seeing who is selected for all these life honors (AFI, Cecil B. Demille, Kennedy Center Honors to name a few). The Screen Actors Guild I always enjoy because they don’t go after the biggest names. They select pretty inspired choices who had a great career and used their fame to give back. I also find this honor the hardest to predict. Their choice is generally older, and many of their choices had a big career in television. It would be nice to see some of the larger icons receive this honor for their great careers and giving back.

My thoughts is any of the following could be honored:

    Alan Alda
    Diahann Carroll
    Jane Fonda
    Bob Newhart
    Jack Nicholson

Diahann Carroll hands down is perfect for this honor especially this year.

    Why not Tom Hanks??

He’s a potential nominee. And he’s young enough for them to wait. Since SAG truly likes to honor its more senior members with this prize.

I can’t believe Cicely Tyson doesn’t have this yet. She should be the obvious choice

It feels weird to write this, but I think it’s about time they honored a man again.  Personally, I’d love to see Mel Brooks, Morgan Freeman, or Carl Reiner get it this year.
