Ironically, if Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon both compete in the lead race at the Emmys, they’ll face the same awards pickle that Joan Crawford and Bette Davis did at the Oscars for “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?” Bette famously got nommed, but Joan didn’t. What may happen this time? Vote in our poll above and share your fierce opinion with us below …April 20, 2017 at 6:52 pm #1202072278
It started out as Feud: Bette and Joan, but Murphy has some how managed to turn it into American Horror Story: The story of Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford occasionally feuding with Bette Davis while managing to embarrass Oscar win er Susan Sarandon by shoving her to the side to make up Fantasy crap about Joan Crawford in an attempt to get Lange another Emmy.
So honestly, Sarandon wouldn’t be committing fraud by going supporting. She has enough screentime to be lead, but she is honestly borderline. And i could totally see Murphy wanting Sarandon to go supporting so Lange won’t have vote splitting and win another Emmy. Honestly though, I hope Sarandon goes lead so that she causes vote splitting with Lange so that Lange can’t win, but she could honestly go either way.April 20, 2017 at 8:02 pm #1202072337
Ryan Murphy is too invested in making Jessica Lange happy and somehow remaking Mommie Dearest through Crawford’s feud with Bette Davis.April 20, 2017 at 8:28 pm #1202072345
It would be ridiculous to have Sarandon compete in Supporting. She’s as much a lead as Lange.April 20, 2017 at 8:31 pm #1202072346

She has barley been in some episodes. I believe Hagsplotaition was the episode when she didn’t appear until the 19 Minute Mark. Lange has more screentime in every episode.April 20, 2017 at 8:59 pm #1202072353
Bashing Lange is so tacky, lol.
They should both go lead.
And to the haters: I’m truly sorry Lange has wiped away all competition and is winning the Emmy.
This is why I want Sarandon to go lead. So tht she can cause vote splitting and Lange will lose.April 20, 2017 at 9:20 pm #1202072359
Sarandon gives a more coherent performance than Lange. Please don’t hate me!April 20, 2017 at 9:33 pm #1202072362
I wasn’t a fan of how Sarandon acted during the election, but I’d vote for her over Lange here. I just feel like I’m watching Jessica Lange every episode, not Joan Crawford.April 20, 2017 at 9:56 pm #1202072371
Like i’ve said before, Feud: Bette and Joan is more Feud: Joan feat. Bette, which is disappointing because it could’ve been 10x better than it turned out.
It really could go either way, but if they both went lead, there would definitely be vote-splitting. I personally liked Susan Sarandon’s performance more than Lange though. And no, that’s not me ‘hating’ (she was A+ in seasons 1-3 of AHS), I’ve just had such a hard time picturing her as Joan Crawford.April 20, 2017 at 10:28 pm #1202072375
Who the fuck cares anymore about categories? Susan should compete in Best Leading Actor! Why even bother with dropping to supporting actress? Both are leading and should go leadin. To not compete with each other let Susan go leading actor, Emmys won’t even care. These days movie and TV awards don’t care. You want to compete as best dog performance they will let you. Cat performance? Sure, no problem. Best wood performance? Be me guest! But this category is already locked up with Chandler Riggs. Fuck that shit. I prefer sports (even though I don’t even watch it) because there you have to obey the rules. If you’re not then bye bye motherfucker.April 20, 2017 at 11:03 pm #1202072390
Jessica was incredible in Feud. And would be deserving of the win.
