Clearly, the CW is CURSED at the Emmys. Its brightest show of all time, “Jane the Virgin,” only garnered a single Emmy nomination. That’s the same number as “Girl Meets World” on the Disney Channel. So, should the CW change its name and re-brand itself in time for next year’s noms? What do you think?

I want to post a gif, but alas I can’t so picture someone rolling their eyes.

Why the dig at Girl Meets World? It’s a hit Disney show up for Best Childrens Program. WGA nominated it. Not a surprise.

I knew “Jane the Virgin” and CW would get one nomination in that eye rolling kind of way I just suspected it to be Rita Moreno and not in the voice over category but that works also.

Well, the CW shouldn’t change it’s name. It should stop airing teen dramas and air sophisticated shows like Jane the Virgin.

There are a lot of great programs from the CW and have been on the CW. The LA Complex, Arrow, The Flash, a few seasons of Vampire Diaries, Life Unexpected. Jane the Virgin and Gilmore Girls being the best.

I love you. What a great show.
Melrose Place 2.0 was also pretty entertaining.

Veronica Mars’ final 2 seasons  were on the See Dub.  It’s discrimination, plain and simple.

There’s clearly a bias here, but it’s not against the network, just teen or younger shows and their stars. When we get Mad Men on the CW and it doesn’t get nominated we’ll talk. But Veronica Mars, great as it was, wasn’t an Emmy show. Gilmore Girls is tricky, I think the Drama placement hurt it. Everything else on the network, just no.

I think that in recent years, the Gilmore Girls would do better as we’ve seen dramedies get more nominations than ever before. But this is a network filled with teen shows and if teen actors on hit shows, regular networks, can’t get nominated, even “young/er” people (who’s the youngest nominee at the Emmys in recent years? America Ferrara, Lena Dunham? That’s it?), how can you expect a whole show and a whole network filled with this demographic to get a nomination. Isn’t James Earl Jones their sole acting nominee?

And pleeeeaaaase, stop pretending Jane the Virgin is some sort of amazing show that should’ve been nominated against today’s nominees, most of its critical acclaim came for the shock that something like this was on the CW, if this were a network that aired Homeland, Mad Men and Kimmy Schmidt, Jane would’ve gotten half of the acclaim it got. Every review must have had the line “for the CW…” or “considering what they usually air” in it.

I loved “Everybody Hates Chris” I think that show was worthy of an emmy nomination or two.

Change it to The HK – then San Francisco’s affiliate can go back to being KBHK like it’s supposed to be.

Besides, The CW is trendsetting – it realized nobody watches TV on Saturday night long before the four major networks finally figured that out.

The Emmy’s even managed to snub Buffy (not on CW but same tribe) – one of the most critically adored shows of all time with some of the greatest episodes ever shown completely shut out of major categories. And I am really disapointed about “Jane”.

I LOVE YOU TOO!! I thought no one watched that except me. That show was cancelled way too soon. Also why isn’t Andre Fuller a star. We complain about Gina getting snubbed… He was the best!!! I was also kinda in love

They’ve already changed in multiple times. The WB, UPN, The CW. Maybe Jane the Virgin got one nomiantion because it is just mediocre?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?! Besides, The Flash got a couple of nominations too (And a far superior show). Where’s the uproar for that show?

If the CW was smart they would use these snubs to their advantage. They could build up a fan base and gain attention from the snub. Campaign at te Golden Globes again and hope by this time next year the critics still pay attention. In such a crowded race getting a relative unknown from a channel not on the radar takes time. It took the Emmys three seasons to include Maslany. If they create a similar buzz around Rodriguez she could possibly get in next year since there are two slots open.
