Are there any shows being predicted for this year’s Emmy’s that we are over-crediting or under-crediting? Here are a few that come to mind:
We are under-crediting Hot in Cleveland. I don’t think it will make best comedy series, but you are all making it sound horrible, and truth is, it’s really not that bad. It’s light comedy.
Right now I can’t think of any shows we are over-crediting, but I know some of you can. What are your opinions?
Game of Thrones
Parks and Recreation
Who knows how well any of those will do?
Parks and Recreation is a show that receives an overwhleming response in the internet but we still don’t know how the industry will respond to it.
The Big C is a show that is not favored here in GD but can very well stride a chord within the voters and result noms for Series, Linney, Platt, Nixon, Neeson, and Writing.
After being completely skunked last year, I think many people are underestimating the chances of “Community” for its second season, myself included. It could very well sneak into a lot of top categories.
Or not. 🙂
I think we are over-crediting “Justified” and under-crediting “Friday Night Lights”.
I think we are heavily over-crediting The Big C. Like most Showtime shows, it will only get a nod for lead actress, directing and a guest star (Weeds was the only exception to this).
^ Nurse Jackie got a series nod last year.
I think we over-crediting Justified with the exception of Margo Martindale. I think Justified will end up with nothing or just the 1 nomination for Martindale.
I think we are underestimating Nurse Jackie. I am not predicting it to get another Comedy Series nomination but I did not last year either.
I echo the sentiment about “The Big C”. It reminds me a lot of “Nurse Jackie” last year, and I think it’s going
to shock a lot of people with nominations in Series, Lead Actress (Linney), Supporting Actor (Platt), Directing,
Guest Actor (Neeson), and Guest Actress (Nixon).
Unlike a lot of people around here, I’m expecting “Game of Thrones” to break into Series, Supporting Actor
(Dinklage), and Directing. I think the show will pull a “True Blood” and break through in a weak year.
