Are there any shows you gave up on and stopped watching while you were binge-watching?

Mine have been Scandal (awful show), Silicon Valley(complete bore), The Affair (same as S.V.).

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Far too annoying for me even if there were some funny moments. Also, I found that I just didn’t care about the characters enough.

Grace and Frankie was so difficult to get through that I couldn’t finish it. I’m going to come back to it now for a little bit, but I’m waiting for myself to feel open-minded enough about it. I also had trouble with Empire, and I had to quit after 4 episodes. I will come back to it though, and had it been nominated for the big one, I absolutely would have finished it, but now I have other Emmy-related priorities.

Same on Empire. I felt like it was more of the same every episode: Bland song, Lucius is homphobic, and Cookie does something ratchet.

Grace and Frankie (around Ep 4), Scandal (after Season 1), Private Practice (after Season 1), Downton Abbey (after Season 1), Hannibal (around mid-season 2), The Mindy Project (after Ep 15) and True Blood (after Season 1).

The Good Wife — I know it’s somewhat serialized but the procedural elements got old fast when watched one after the other. Stopped about midway through season 2.

I also had the same problem with FNL, but after season 1, this show just changed tv for me. One of my top 5 shows of all time. Really suggest you give it a shot!

Orphan Black. Got half way through season two and I wasn’t gripped so it became a longer gap between episodes. I also stopped Breaking Bad halfway through Season 5.

I couldn’t make it through the first season of ‘Hannibal’, and ‘Orphan Black’ seems like a lost cause at this point.

I’ve stopped watching shows on the normal weekly basis, but never on a binge. I pick wisely.

I do need to revisit some shows where I haven’t watched the last couple seasons. There’s only so much time.

Does it really count if you gave up during or after the pilot?  Some shows really don’t work well in binge format, like the first couple of seasons of Hannibal (the procedural element makes it slightly repetitive and it is a lot of beautifully grotesque imagines) and Empire (I love watching week to week but I imagine it would be like watching the same episode over and over if I binged).

I’ve dropped quite a few shows that I was prepared to binge after watching some or all of the pilot, I think most recently Silicon Valley.
