I think everyone has a list of shows they’ve been meaning to watch, some for quite awhile, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to discuss these shows. This way we can get others opinions before we delve in…

    My list:

    Alias
    Dollhouse
    Once and Again
    The Practice
    The Shield

    What are yours?

There are shows currently on that I want to start watching, shows that I’ve tried to catch up on but got bored in the middle of the season, and shows that are off the air but that I want to start. I’ll split my list into three sections.

    ON-AIR SHOWS, NEED TO START
    Fringe, Seasons 1 through 3
    Justified
    , Seasons 1 and 2
    Louie, Seasons 1 and 2
Mad Men, Seasons 2 and on
    Parks & Recreation, Seasons 1 and 2
Sons of Anarchy, Seasons 3 and 4

    MIDSEASON, NEED TO FINISH
    Daybreak
    Jericho
    , Season 1
    The Killing, Season 1
    Modern Family, Season 3
The Wire, Seasons 4 and 5

    OFF-AIR, NEED TO START
    Battlestar Galactica, all of it
    Deadwood, all of it
    The Shield, all of it
Six Feet Under, all of it
    Terriers

MIDSEASON, WILL NOT BE FINISHING ANY TIME SOON
    Hell on Wheels, Season 1

Crap, I didn’t realize how big this list would be … that’s depressing how much I haven’t seen.

Oh. This thread is so depressing! There are so many.

    I need to finish…
The West Wing (I’m only in the middle of season 2…the last episode I watched was during the summer so…)
The OC (only halfway through season 1)

And then I need to watch…
    The Wire
    I’ll Fly Away
LOST (i guess…i’ve only seen the pilots)
Ally McBeal (I’ve only seen the pilot)
    Dexter (again…only seen the pilot)
    House (I suppose)
    The Practice
    Boston Legal
    Touched By An Angel
    Regenesis
    Edgemont
    One Tree Hill
Family (only if they make all the seasons available on DVD)

My problem is I buy DVDs when they’re on a special promotion, but it takes forever for me to get to watching them…Right now, the ones I have but have yet to start:

    Ally McBeal – Complete Series
    – Desperate Housewives – Seasons 4 through 8
    – Dexter – Seasons 3 through 6
    – Dirt – Seasons 1 and 2/Complete Series
    – Lost – Seasons 4 through 6
    – Weeds – Seasons 5 through 7
    – The West Wing – Complete Series
    – The Wire – Complete Series

Just started Dowton Abbey, season 1

Is I’ll Fly Away available? I don’t think it ever had a proper DVD release.

I also need to watch The Wire. I’ve never seen a single episode of House, so I might seek that out to see what all the fuss was about.

I’ve thought about watching one of the Emmy giants of the 1990s, either ER or NYPD Blue, but knowing that I have 10+ seasons ahead of me (and that their quality gradually wanes) is a bit discouraging. I don’t believe in watching individual tapes or submissions, so I might never see the tape with which Dennis Franz beat out James Gandolfini.

I really want to watch Northern Exposure, but I’ve read that the music in the first-run episodes was integral to the show and that the DVD release replaced most of it with generic music.

Darn it! You’re right! And I’m guessing recorded versions aren’t “available” online either.

I think I’m a little relieved. One less show to worry about since this is completely out of my hands 😉

Some of the shows I need to watch someday:

    Alias
Breaking Bad (after the first disc of season 1, which I did see)
    Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    Louie
    Rubicon
    Terriers
    The Shield
    The Wire (after season 1)

I did see the first season of The Wire, and while I thought it was really well done, watching it felt a little… laborious, somehow.  Friends have told me it gets even better, so I guess I should give it another shot someday, though I fear I may have to re-watch season 1 by the time I get to it.

I want for nothing. I have checked out every show I ever was interested in. Some worthy shows that many members seem to have ignored: Friday Night Lights, The Wire, Grosse Point, Homicide: Life on the Street, Terriers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Now and Again, Frank’s Place, Freaks and Geeks, EZ Streets, Battlestar Galactica.

Well, as soon as I can I’ll watch Homeland (security, lol) as per a recommendation from BrillianceInmorbid. Not surprisingly, it isnt here yet.
