Are there any shows you’ve given up on this season?

For me it’s New Girl and GLEE.

I’ve been fans of both, but this season they seem to be losing their way. New Girl is just all over the place, has too many characters and is simply annoying… lost all it’s charm.

GLEE, i’m just over. It’s time for the show to die…. to go away.

I have watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine this year, but have lost track of the more recent episodes.

Not really for me. I was never a fan of Glee (but my sister and two best friends are Gleeks, ironically), I still like B99, and for the most part, a lot of the shows that I watch and continue to watch are shows that I like, and like unconditionally. But as for shows that I gave up watching… I don’t know, I guess nothing.

On the drama side “Homeland” and I was close to dropping “New Girl” too, but Linda Cardellini as Jess sister killed it and renewed my interest (though I am behind).

New Girl (not dropped, but haven’t bothered watching this season but I will though)

For me, it is 2 of the new shows, Mom and Sean Saves the World. I followed both until the winter hiatus, but I didn’t come back and don’t plan to. I rarely drop shows, the only one I dropped last year was Revolution.

This season I gave up on:

The Crazy Ones (after Episode 17)
    The Following (after Episode 2.01)
Glee (The Quarterback was my series finale)
    The Goldbergs (after Episode 16)
    Nashville (after Episode 2.06)
The Walking Dead (after Episode 4.01)
and I probably would have given up on Raising Hope if it wasn’t its last season.

I gave up on Once Upon a Time and Revenge after their second season finales.

    Recently:

“Homeland” – as I wrote on its official thread, watching it became homework. What a bad, boring season. I can’t see the show rebound from it. First 2 seasons were always entertaining.

“Modern Family” – I still might check the submissions and enjoy Ty Burrell, but that’s it. I know it’s sitcom and characters aren’t exactly suppose to really evolve but in this case they are way too stagnant.

    Earlier on:

“Grey’s Anatomy” – I liked it but while watching early season 7 episode (the one with flirting between Williams and Raver) I realized I’m not invested in this world anymore. The worst part was the fact that all characters started to talk and behave the same way, even Callie and Bailey, when the biggest appeal of the show was how different they were in every possible sense of the world. Then gimmick episodes started that I checked and was not impressed, especially this plane crash was bad. Forget Heigl and Knight but the show started to struggle without Walsh and Washington since season 4. Good for Sandra Oh to finally move on.

“Weeds” – The show was not the same without Elizabeth Perkins and out of the suburbs.

“Ugly Betty” – They couldn’t sustain the quality so I dropped in early season 3. Then came back for the finale and it was more of the same so the decision was right. A little funny to remember the interview with Salma Hayek and Eric Mabius where they said that they want to make the show even for 10 years!

    Dropped but returned:

“Community”. I dropped it at the start of season 2 when I considered the episodes were not up to the standard of season 1. Fellow GoldDerby members have convinced me to give it a shot and I don’t regret it. I was far behind but I catched up. Certainly no regrets.

The Crazy Ones – lost interest many episodes ago.
The Blacklist – I like Spader, but that’s about it. Lead actress turns me off.
Looking – I tried, but it just never captured me.

Should have dropped: American Horror Story. That was awful.

I’d also say The Following and House of Lies, but I simply did not return for this season.

Well, some of them i will try to give them another shot when i have more time, but the Winter has come, and i have another ones i like better…

So, Suits. I did really like it the first season, second was digistable till mid season and then, i couldnt watch it more…
Glee. Stopped it and i am not in the mood to watch it anymore… i may watch chapter 100 tough
Agents of Shield… 4 chapters and i have enough
Rizzoli & Isles... I love the show, but watching Frost hurts too much… i may comeback later…
Castle I may watch it when it is here. They usually repeat each chapter lots of times….
Witches of East End. I did liked at first, but i didnt watch the last chapters

Um before I tell you guys how much shows I’ve dropped… let it be known I watch a ton of television. But I have gave up on:

2 Broke Girls – Jokes got stale
The Crazy Ones – Didn’t maintain my interest in first few episodes
    Elementary – I got bored
Episodes – It wasn’t very funny
Hostages – This should’ve been a movie or a 5-episode miniseries if anything
The Michael J. Fox Show – I expected more from MJF

DVR stockpile (AKA shows I will probably get rid of but I haven’t thus far):
    The Blacklist (8)
    Grimm (6)
    Helix (9)
    New Girl (5)
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (9)
    Nashville (13)
    Revenge (12)

Yeah, I watched the first two or three episodes of  The Crazy One’s and then lost track of it… I tried Michael J. Fox show but lost interest quickly…

Elementary I lasted about 3 episodes it’s first year and quit, HIMYM I stopped watching about 2-3 years ago… I never made it past half-way through season 1 of 2 Broke Girls, and lasted mid-way through season 1 of Revenge.

A lot of shows on Showtime (like Episodes) I’ve seen on I-Tunes, but because I don’t get Showtime I’m behind on.

Same here. It got really tired quickly… I felt like they were repeating stories a lot.

The Blacklist – I like Spader, but that’s about it. Lead actress turns me off.

Oh gosh, I can’t stand the lead actress either, in fact I like her LESS as the weeks go on.  However, I am still watching it for the moment, solely because of Spader.  I will probably finish out the season but probably won’t continue next season.

I dropped Dracula- just never warmed up to it, for some reason, even though it’s right up my alley.  Someone mentioned Hostages- man, that was godawful, but I stuck with it only because I knew it’d be over with soon.  I dropped Revenge more than a year ago- I initially loved it, but all that initiative stuff and other meanderings were just ugh.

Still watching Mom (uneven but I love Janney and Faris’ chemistry and it does broach interesting topics), Elementary (yeah, often it feels like every other procedural, but I do love Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu), and The Walking Dead (I may be in the minority, but I am enjoying this seaon).  Also Justified- even though it’s been a lackluster season, it’s one show where the dialogue is usually sure to make me laugh, and that is enough to keep me watching.  Er, that and Tim Olyphant’s gorgeousness 😉

    Glee
    Reign
Once Upon A Time in Wonderland
    S.H.I.E.L.D
    The Blacklist
    Revenge
Once Upon A Time (dropped it early season 3 but I might watch again with the new storyline)

Might drop Hart of Dixie since I’m getting sick of Wade.

I find it hard to drop those 30 min comedies.
