I just started this week watching this show and I am digging it. My local indie theater plays cult classics every other Tuesday and they are showing Fire Walk With Me so I decied to binge it this week and I am excited for this! Lynch weirdly said he doesn’t know if it is going to happen yet SHOWTIME keeps saying “We’re all on board just waiting for Lynch”. I hope SHOWTIME is right and Lynch was just misquoted

Althought apparently Showtime still may be proceeding with this, the Twin Peaks revival took a huge hit today with David Lynch pulling out.

Ugh Lynch why?!?!?! I was so pumped for this. I’m still going to watch but hope that Showtime is right (they put out a statement) and they can reach a deal with Lynch.

I’m hoping that this is just a negotiating tactic, because, otherwise, this is such a deflating blow.

I mean, Lynch and Frost apparently co-wrote all the scripts already, so that’s nice. And there are others who did well directing the show back in the day (my vote at this point might be getting Lesli Linka Glatter back). But nobody can fully do the surrealism of Lynch, and part of the incentive to watch this was just to see HIM do something again after a decade away from feature films.

Oh, man. I hope Macbeth is doing okay.

^^^^ This! I was thinking earlier that they should bring her in to direct it, she was in my opinion the best director Twin Peaks had besides David Lynch. Actually, is there a chance they could get Mark Frost to direct? Although he’d probably turn it down with Lynch.

Looking it up though, it’s interesting to see that Lynch only directed 6 episodes of Twin Peaks, so the show could probably go along ok without him directing, I mean the entire limited series is all his and Mark Frost’s scripts, which is better than the original series where they had other writers too.

I didn’t know all the scripts were in the can already.  That is good news.    But, the episodes of the original that Lynch directed were remarkable and I desperately want another ‘Lonely Souls’ or ‘Beyond Life and Death’ so I will cling to the faint hope that this could still be salvaged!

Interesting that he is so public about wanting more money.

Lynch has never been a bullshitter. He has gone on Letterman and Leno and blasted his TV networks before for giving his awful time slots. It really wasn’t surprising he was so upfront about that

Exactly, Lynch always tells it like it is. No surprise there.

The roller coaster continues.  David Lynch is BACK on board, directing all the episodes, and not only that, they are adding episodes to the initial order.

Jennifer Jason Leigh!!   I think she could be fantastic in the Twin Peaks world.
