I can’t find The Missing Pieces anywhere. So I’m about to start the revival. I’m so excited!!May 25, 2017 at 12:21 pm #1202102419
The first two episodes of the Revival were good. Reall trippY but still good. ReallY interested to see how this does at the Globes? THis is so fucking trippY. KYle Maclachlan is amazing in Part two. YAY to ShellY being back. I reallY like that actress.
Part 1 grade: B
Part 2 Grade: B+May 25, 2017 at 3:26 pm #1202102560
Episode 3 was the wackiest for sure. Episode 4 was the best so far. Does anybody have any theories? This show is so confusing but I love it!
Part 3 grade: B-
Part 4 Grade: B+
Also, If this show does good at the Emmys it could DOMINATE the guest categories. So many friggin Guest just in the first 4 episodes. Assuming all of the following are eligible for guest, I could see these having a shot. David Duchovny is an obvious contender. Miguel Ferrer could get a posthumous nomination. He has so many things going for him. Being good, being dead, nostalgia, and somehow never being nominated. Naomi Watts is a contender. Michael Cera was hilarious. At first I was trying to find out what the fuck hew was doing but by the end of his monologue I loved it. David Lynch could easily get an acting nom since his character is beloved by fans. Ray Wise could get a career nom if he gets more to do. Robert Forster might be someone to consider depending on eligibility. Jennifer Jason Leigh will obviously have some meat to chew on. And lol at Matthew Lillard AKA shaggy being in this. He won’t get nominated but its just funny that Shaggy is in Twin Peaks. And there will for sure be more guest contenders.
Kyle Machlachlan should be able to get back in. I would love to see Michale Horse get in as well.
So far I think the best directed episode is part 1 and the best written episode is part 4. I would love to see a music supervision nomination. I could also see nominations for music composition, Titile design, and sound categories.IckyParticipantJoined:Jun 28th, 2012Topics:22Posts:4540May 26, 2017 at 8:47 pm #1202103469
Have gotten around to episode 4. It’s probably by least favorite thus far. The 2 hour premiere had a ton of mystery, mood and genuinely terrifying sequences. Episode 3 had a mesmerizingly strange first half. Episode 4 has more plot but not really any forward movement. And I’m just not at all interested in anything happening in the town of Twin Peaks right now.
The original parodied soap cliches. This seems to be parodying the original and what the masses seem to interpret the original TP to be.Marco B.ParticipantJoined:Nov 29th, 2014Topics:11Posts:2864May 29, 2017 at 7:54 am #1202105147
Ep 3 and 4 watched. I’ve decided it’s kind of silly to give each episode a rating. It’s already difficult to judge Lynch’s work and I better wait to see how it continues. I’ll also try not to be too partial and avoid calling it “best show of the year” regardless of its quality. But so far it’s terrific for sure.
That said, I preferred Ep3 to ep4. Lynch seems to be incredibly in control of all technical aspects – once again, it’s mesmerazing to see how well he can use both images and sound.
Oh, and Kyle MacLachlan is already giving one of my favourite performances of the year. Why didn’t he have a great career (or maybe he had and I’m just unaware of it)? He’s so talented!vinnyParticipantJoined:May 20th, 2011Topics:7Posts:32246May 29, 2017 at 8:09 am #1202105151

This show is by far the best and most interesting thing on tv in a long time. It’s also richer than most of what’s being done in American cinema. Enjoy this while you can.June 5, 2017 at 8:14 pm #1202111825
Is there any actor not on this show?Jack JansenParticipantJoined:Nov 1st, 2014Topics:1Posts:165June 6, 2017 at 9:02 am #1202112313
I’ve been thinking about watching the original but saw that the second season has 22 episodes. Is it worth the time?

Just watched 4 and 5. My grade: A+ and A respectively. This show makes my head spin and I love itJune 6, 2017 at 9:47 am #1202112354
I haven’t seen much awards talk on this thread. How do we think Twin Peaks will do at the Golden Globes in the Emmys. If Naomi Watts is in guest actress she should get in pretty easily. I also hope Kyle (can’t spell his last name) can get into lead actor. What do y’all think?jacob121ParticipantJoined:Mar 2nd, 2011Topics:26Posts:1110June 6, 2017 at 10:10 am #1202112364
I think any actor beyond Kyle McLachlan getting in is a question mark considering the size/scope of each role is still a mystery. I’d say McLachlan easily gets a best actor nod, though.
Piper Laurie got an Emmy nom and Golden Globe win and Sherilyn Fenn got Emmy and Globe noms but neither have appeared (yet) in the revival.
My understanding is that this will be campaigned as a limited series so Watts won’t be able to submit as a guest. I wouldn’t say she’s done anything particularly noteworthy acting-wise thus far either tbh.
This show is so hard to discuss week to week because it is so unlike anything else on television. In the past month or so I binged all of seasons one and two for the first time and am now caught up on the new series and it has been A TRIP. Not sure I really understand it but I am all in. I still need to see Fire Walk With Me, though. That seems to be informing a lot of the action in the revival.

I think the show will do very well overall, and I think someone or a few people will stand out bu the end of the season and get nominated. I hope Sheryl Lee gets a supporting nomination.pulp50ParticipantJoined:Feb 13th, 2017Topics:21Posts:1717June 18, 2017 at 8:28 pm #1202125403
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I really liked tonight’s episode, things have really picked up. Since this is supposed to be an 18 hour movie, it seems like the first six episodes were act 1 and now we’re into act two. Laura Dern is everything as Diane, I hope she continues as a major character through the rest of the show. Kyle MacLachlan has also been fantastic in this, he’s showing a lot of range in his duel roles and we still haven’t really seen him as just plain old coop which will be amazing when we do. I’m wondering about emmys and things next year. I think Maclachlan should be able to get in lead actor, but it seems like all the buzz this show had leading up to its release has vanished. Idk if it’s just that people need to wait and see it all or what. I mean, this thread is dead. It’ll probably still do reasonably well, but the lack of discussion bothers me.</p>
