It was, by far, my most anticipated new show of the season to watch and I was not let down, AT ALL. I can’t remember the last time I laughed throughout the whole show.  I can only pray it does well enough with the ratings not to get cancelled.

Yes, I loved it.  I was at least chuckling pretty much the whole show, and there was appeal to every character right off the bat.  Goldbergs and Trophy Wife are a solid hour of goodness.  Now watch ABC do something awful with the scheduling to ruin it.

Obviously there were people watching. While it received 7.6 million viewers LESS than NCIS: LA, it still came in first place in its timeslot in the 18-49 share, receiving a 3.2.

I watched it, and it didn’t really impressed me. I thought this could be a big hit but the pilot left me disappointed. I’ll stick around for a couple of episodes, see if it gets better.

ABC needs to keep calm and leave it right where it is, especially seeing how well (understatement) that SHIELD show did.  And the parents on this show slay me.

I don’t know why, but I’m shocked at those number lol.  I’m hoping it retains it’s viewers.

I loved it! Best comedy pilot I’ve seen in a while. Wendi McLendon-Covey and George Segal were the 2 standouts for me. Her overbearing but loving mother was pitch perfect and stands along Martha Plimpton’s Virginia Chance as best TV moms. George Segal as the loving and immature grandfather was great without overtaking the show and brought heart. The rest of the cast was funny as well, hoping they give the daughter more to do though. The best scene was actually Jeff Garlin and Troy Gentile singing along to REO Speedwagon. Not perfect, but I like that the characters aren’t perfect and overly smart alecky. The show seems more real to me. I know families like that. My family can be like that at times, maybe that’s why.

I liked this more than Mom & Trophy Wife, both of which I enjoyed, but this one resonated more.

I watched the pilot a couple weeks ago, and I enjoyed it.  I wouldn’t say I LOVED it, but I really didn’t have any expectations going in and was pleasantly suprised.  I thought everyone did well Segal, Covey, Garlin and for me the kid that played Barry was a stand out.   I think one of the challenges for the show is going to be moving past the whole “gee weren’t the 80s funny” stuff which will get old rather quickly…however, I think the show has real potential if it can really focus on the family dynamics.

I honestly think this would pair well with The Middle on ABC and Trophy Wife would pair well with Modern Family giving ABC a perfect Wednesday night line up, but if this show can keep the retention high out of SHIELD then it can become a hit in its own right.

I need to give this show a look. It looked like a sleeper hit from the previews, but I honestly forgot it came on. I’ll need to set my DVR to record it and catch the pilot episode on demand.

Wendi is (IMO) the most underrated comedic actress out there.  I hope this takes off for her.

I think this has a very Malcolm in the Middle feel to it (overbearing mother who is surprisingly resonating, young boy being the protagonist and narrator of his own story, a crazy family). I think it was wonderful.

I hope this can get some award attention – maybe an actress nomination for McLendon-Covey (considering Comedy Actress could be stronger). And maybe even Supporting nominations for Garlin and/or Seagal

It was ok, but considering that it saw a decent sized ratings drop halfway through the episode, I’ll pass.
