Does anyone else think that Jennifer Coolidge deserves a nomination for Supporting Actress for her hilarious performance as Sophie in “Two Broke Girls?”  She is the only reason to actually watch the show.  It’s always fun to hear the audience respond to her whenever she walks into the restaurant.

Well, since we’re talking Comedy, I’m guessing this is some kind of joke…

She is good in it, but not Emmy worthy by any stretch.

This is the hardest category for me to come up with contenders since the OITNB ladies have been moved to Drama (I had three of them getting noms… Uzo Aduba, Kate Mulgrew, and Lorraine Touissaint).

Will voters bring back contenders they’ve recently dropped (Merritt Wever, Sofia Vergara, Betty White) or make room for new blood? Below are 30 contenders with whom I could come up.

To the original poster: Does Jennifer Coolidge have a specific episode that made you think she could contend? If so, post it on here, and I’ll totally go watch it. It’s not the craziest idea. I mean, Eden Sher has insane buzz for The Middle, a series that’s never been on Emmy’s radar. But it doesn’t make her performance any less deserving.

    CONTENDERS:

    The Defending Champ
    – Allison Janney, Mom

    Previous Champs
    – Julie Bowen, Modern Family
    – Jane Lynch, Glee
    – Merritt Wever, Nurse Jackie

Perennial Nominees or Roles Nominated At Least Once Before
    – Mayim Bialik, The Big Bang Theory
    – Anna Chlumsky, Veep
    – Kate McKinnon, SNL
    – Sofia Vergara, Modern Family
    – Betty White, Hot in Cleveland

    Newcomers for New Series
    – Ellen Barkin, Happyish
    – Carrie Preston, Happyish
    – Carol Kane, Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt
    – Jane Krakowski, Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt
    – Andrea Navedo, Jane the Virgin
    – Melora Hardin, Transparent
    – Gaby Hoffman, Transparent
    – Amy Landecker, Transparent
    – Judith Light, Transparent

    Newcomers for Second-and-Onward Seasons
    – Kristen Bell, House of Lies
    – Sufe Bradshaw, Veep
    – Kaley Cuoco, The Big Bang Theory
    – Melissa Rauch, The Big Bang Theory
    – Melissa Fumero, Brooklyn Nine-Nine
    – Jemima Kirke, Girls
    – Zosia Mamet, Girls
    – Allison Williams Girls
    – Eden Sher, The Middle

Nom’d in Guest, Now Contending in Supporting
    – Dot-Marie Jones, Glee

    Now-or-Never
    – Aubrey Plaza, Parks and Recreation
    – Lauren Weedman, Looking

    Stretchy,

A simple “no” would have been enough.

Jennifer Coolidge is giving possibly a Top 5 Worst Performance (WORST) on Television each week on 2 Broke Girls. It’s unbelieveably awful. Incredible. Her delivery has got to be one of the worst thing I have to sit through each week. I actually like the show, I know there are many things wrong with it, but I enjoy it, don’t ask me why. But man, Coolidge cannot be any worse than she is here. Nobody can.

Betty White a “perennial” nominee? She hasn’t been nominated for this award since 2011. Which was her only nomination for the show.

Also, aside from Krakowski, I doubt voters go looking for somebody else outside of those they snubbed last year to replace Mulgrew and the spot we knew Aduba would take.

Since you shamed me, I edited the heading of it. Better? LOL

I would normally think that too, but this is the category that always seems to be bringing someone back.

Off the top of my head… Jane Krakowski (30 Rock), Jane Lynch (Glee), Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men) was dropped and returned twice (nom’d in 05, dropped in 06, nom’d in 07 and 08, dropped in 09, nom’d in 10), Conchata Ferrell (Two and a Half Men), Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me!)… I’m sure there are more.

And if anyone is likely to make a comeback for a farewell nom (for the series), it’s Betty White. Especially in a category with practically two contenders (Janney, Bowen). I’m personally rooting for Jane Krakowski. She has the due factor and at least two winning episodes.

People are going to call me a fanboy (who cares, really?), but I do think that both Jane Lynch and Dot Marie Jones in “Glee” can make the cut – they were freakin’ awesome this season and definitely better than for example Julie Bowen, Mayim Bialik or Anna Chulmsky.

Jane Lynch: I really hated that due terrible writing the iconic Sue was wasted for years, but for the final season, she seemed to be the scene stealer and I laughed my ass off on her. I swear it’s Lynch’s third best season on the show after the first two seaons. She would be such a deserving nominee and she has nothing, but winning-tapes to submit.

Dot Marie Jones: Of course that she’s going to have a very hard time getting in. She doesn’t really have the name recognizion and her role is dramatic and sad instead of funny. But she made the Guest Actress cut three times and that’s something. Voters know her now, they like her very much. And this season Jones’ character was very important in a way. And Hollywood really love that certain topic.

    MY PREDICTION
    (Predicting 7 nominees)

    Allison Janney in “Mom”
    Julie Bowen in “Modern Family”
    Judith Light in “Transparent”
    Anna Chlumsky in “Veep”
Mayim Bialik in “The Big Bang Theory”
    Jane Lynch in “Glee”
    Dot Marie Jones in “Glee”

Alt: Kate McKinnon in “Saturday Night Live” or Jane Krakowski in “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” – I’m really skeptical about Krakowski, she had many winning-tapes for “30 Rock” and they didn’t award her at all. I doubt that they like her that much. And this Kate McKinnon thing can be one-time wonder. I really hope so, because I’m not into this ‘let’s nominate variety performers’ in this category.

Yeah that’s what I said. They’ll look for replacements from the women they snubbed. I think the other nominees will come from Krakowski (new), Vergara, Wever (snubbed)…plus Janney, Chlumsky, Bialik, Lynch, Bowen (repeats)…Maybe Judith Light has a chance.

Watch out for Carrie Brownstein on Portlandia, which grows at the Emmys every year.

As much as I’m tired to see Janney on the Emmy stage..she sould repeat this year..she’s simply the best.

But, even if they obsiously don’t stand a chance, I would die to see Melissa Rauch and Lauren Weedman nominated.

Is it confirmed Kristen Schaal is submitted as a lead?

    Current Predictions –
    1. Allison Janney – Mom
    2. Kate McKinnon – SNL
    3. Julie Bowen – Modern Family
    4. Anna Chlumsky – Veep
    5. Gaby Hoffman – Transparent
    6. Eden Sher – The Middle

    7. Mayim Bialik – The Big Bang  Theory

I am pretty confident about the top 5 getting in, including Gaby Hoffman. Going out on a limb here for Eden Sher in the middle, but I have a gut feeling that she will finally get in this year. But not predicting Bialik just feels stupid :/

Yeah, but she really should go supporting at this point.  She was co-lead in like four episodes.
