I am glad to see others think Poehler is going to take it.  So many people assume JLD has it in the bag but there are some warning signs out there.  Veep being left out of a very weak Comedy Field and Parks and Rec making it in is very telling to me.  They do not love Veep.  If they can snub her last year coming off an Emmy win for Lena Dunham, they can snub her for their critically acclaimed co host Poehler.

I think a lot of people are predicting JLD because she is an Emmy winner and a double nominee, and I can see the case for that. But double nominees come out empty handed from the Globes all the time, and like you said, they simply don’t care for Veep. I’m predicting Poehler because I think that Series nom for Parks was mostly motivated by her popularity with the HFPA, not too mention it’s a way for the HFPA to thank her for doing such a great job hosting last year and accepting to do it again this time.

I just realized that besides the reigning winner, the other 4 Comedy Actress nominees are all on their 3rd nomination in the category without having won. Weird.

House of Cards (2nd – Breaking Bad)
Kerry Washington (Tatiana Maslany) – Her show’s much more popular, if mediocre.
    Kevin Spacey (Bryan Cranston)
    Big Bang Theory (?) – Hasn’t won, Brooklyn/Parks aren’t very hot right now buzz-wise.
    Amy Poehler (Julia Louis-Dreyfus)
MJF (Andy Samberg) – The others have wins for their role.
Behind the Candelabra (Top of the Lake)
Elisabeth Moss (Helena Bonham Carter) – Neither has 1.
    Michael Douglas
    Sofia Vergara (Monica Potter)
    Rob Lowe (Aaron Paul)
