This is a big one. Airing Friday, April 24, 2015, starting at 9 PM ET on ABC.

I oddly am curious to see what he has to say (specifically about what made him do this change now and not earlier….I’m assuming that reason’s first name is Kris).

I just hope that this will be a platform of understanding rather than ridicule. I hope this clears the air for people and they leave Bruce alone. I just saw a “news” report about Bruce wearing a dress to CNN. Like why is this a news piece?

Is this really a “big one” as stated above?  To my knowledge most people are avoiding this like the plague and are lumping this as just another part of the never ending stream of “Katrashian” associated publicity stunts.  If this really were a big deal, wouldn’t ABC be airing this on a bigger night than a Friday night?

I can see some people checking this out in a trainwreck kind of way, but beyond that I am assuming the majority of people watching this are going to be either already self obsessed Kardashian fans or people who have a vested interest in trans issues.  And to my knowledge the first of those groups is shrinking by the day and the later is a very small group.

I guess if you are obsessed with pop culture or the E! channel this might be a big deal for some people, but for the most part I am guessing the general public just does not care about this anymore, if they ever did in the first place.

This interview has been covered in numerous news and entertainment outlets for weeks now. It will probably not have blockbuster numbers due to airing in Friday night, but plenty of people from different walks of life will have some interest in this major human interest story. Of course, your mileage may vary, and if so, then don’t watch it. This goes deeper than simply being a Kardashian stan or whatever.

I despise the Kardashians, what they stand for, their “brand”. This isn’t about the Kardashians. This is about Bruce Jenner. An Olympic legend that has sadly become a reality tabloids star because of the woman he married that carried alot of baggage with her children.

^Of course I am not going to watch it.  And I am not saying anyone else should not, I just question bow “big” a news stroy this is.  Yes, the mainstream media has been covering this for a while now, but then the main stream media seems to have some endless obsession with the Kardashians that many of us do not understand.  Despite what E! News would have anyone believe, the Kardashians actually have been losing popularity these past few years and just like most reality stars, their 15 minutes will eventually expire.

I really have a hard time seeing anyone outside of the Kardashian stans turning out to watch this.  Or I doubt most average people (especially straight men) are going to be sitting around for two hours watching Bruce Jenner wax poetic about whatever gender or family issues he may be having.  If he is happy good for him, I just highly doubt that most people care or want to know at this point.

And in all reality would anyone really care about him anymore if he was not associated with the Kardashians at this point?  I highly doubt that.

Once again, this isn’t about the Kardashians. This is about Bruce Jenner. He is more famous than any of them are in terms of legacy and what he’s accomplished. He’s one of the biggest people going through a transition in such a spotlight probably since Chaz Bono. I think people like me who could care less about his family want to watch it to see what he has to say about the world we live in and how hard it is to be transgender in the world. It’s more than the subject, it’s the topic as a whole that people will tune in for

It’s not about the Kardashians. This is about a former Olympic gold medalist, actor, and reality personality making a major life and gender change. That alone will attract many to this. Speculation as to how many people will watch or what “kinds” of people will watch this is pointless. All will be revealed soon enough when ratings come out. Back to the interview.

Actually the fact he is related to the Kardashians is the only reason he is getting this interview.  Sorry to dissapoint you, but I doubt most regular people truly care that much about trans issues.  Sad to say, but that is probably the stark truth.  But if you want to watc h and root him on and cheer for his transition than be my guest.  I just doubt there is as large a crowd for this kind of thing as you claim to be.  And as Atypical said, ratings may give us a better idea of how this did, so we will have to wait and see.

Actually, the fact is that this is a huge topic in the news lately. With Transparent, Orange is the New Black, and other projects, this is a topic that many Americans want to educate themselves on. I think you’re undermining why people would tune in. Once again, it’s more than the subject it’s the topic as a whole. Once again, he had a life before Kris Jenner and the Kardashians.

^Yes! It’s very good, thoughtful, tasteful, insightful, and touching, Jenner is answering questions very openly and honestly.

The only thing that baffles me is why “Transparent” isn’t covering the Amazon.com homepage right now. This is the show’s biggest night since the Golden Globes, and Amazon isn’t taking notice or using all of the free publicity. Yikes.
