Why there isn’t a SAG reactions thread?

So happy for Foy, the SAG didn’t disappoint. Sadly, I don’t see how she can beat Moss at the Emmys.

It was fun while it lasted: The Crown Season 3: Paul Bettany Exits Talks to Play Prince Philip

I have noticed it’s always the same story with Paul Bettany. He’s in talks and then he exits them. He did this to many TV shows.

I think he’d be miscast. Jeez, he looks much younger than 46, or Matt Smith looks much older. I don’t know, Olivia Colman looks older than 43. It would feel like literally recasting Philip, they really need to find someone much older looking.

I thought Elizabeth the character wasn’t given much to do this season compared to season 1, but I felt Foy was just better in season 2 than she was in season 1. I’m not a fan of Matt Smith’s portrayal of Phillip but thought he was effective in the Prince Charles in boarding school episode. I preferred Kirby in season 1 but recognize she had more scene chewing this season. Matthew Goode is sort of creepy. I think it’s his eyes.

Great end to the season! People who took Claire Foy for granted will miss her when she’s gone. That’s taking nothing away from Olivia Colman, who is a huge get for this series moving forward. Surprisingly complex work from Matt Smith, who more than earned supporting actor consideration. My beloved Vanessa Kirby was royally robbed last season, so please correct that mistake this season, Emmys! Thanks in advance. Matthew Goode can deservedly make the cut in guest actor and wholly should over the cameos of John Lithgow and Jared Harris and Michael C. Hall’s miscasting. Expecting writing and directing nods for Peter Morgan and Stephen Daldry, respectively. Series bid will be easy, and it’s winning Drama Series before it concludes its run. Onto season 3, bitches!

Will Matt Smith be Lead or Supporting? He was submitted as Lead last year, but that may have been to make sure he didn’t take votes away from Lithgow and Harris. Now that both of them are ineligible and any other supporting actor from the show doesn’t stand a chance I could see him easily getting in there.

Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.

I surely would nod Smith in supporting.

Foy, Smith and Kirby need to be nominated and Foy and Kirby at the moment are my choices in their categories.

I’d be very surprised if he wasn’t submitted as Lead again. If they considered him even remotely so last year, then they definitely will this year even if Supporting might be more sensible.

I think he stands a strong chance in both – obviously, supporting has more space though. He was such a prominent part of the second season.

They are again only submitting Stephen Daldry for directing.  Voters now have the complete season and in the accompanying booklet, there are four pictures of Matthew Goode and two quotes from critics.  Matt Smith only gets one quote.  Michael C. Hall and Jodi Balfour get no pictures or quotes.

In spite of the consecutive DGA snubs does anyone think The Crown can seriously win for Drama Series as an underrated dark horse? I remember how after the Emmys last year even Elisabeth Moss said how she loved Foy’s performance in the first season and Foy’s 2 SAG wins in a row show consistent support from within the industry. I think if the show gets multiple acting nods besides just Foy then we should consider its Series chances more.

Hey, with Wright, Harris, and Harington all moved up to Lead as well as perpetual nominees Michael Kelly and Johnathan Banks shows not eligible with new seasons this Emmy year, Supporting seems like the smart way to go for Matt Smith indeed, fraud be damned.

    Smith is getting nominated

I want to predict Smith now, replacing Justin Hartley with him, but first Smith has to actually be added to Supporting Actor in the predictions center.
