I CANNOT WAIT A WEEK AAAAGHJune 7, 2017 at 7:25 pm #1202114039
I want Moss to win but I also want Coon to win. I doubt Coon will get nominated, but if she does I think she could pull it off. If she doesn’t I will be rooting for Moss though. Foy is also an oubvious possibility to win. If coon gets nominated I will predict 1) Coon 2) Moss 3) FoyLord Freddy BlackfyreParticipantJoined:Nov 3rd, 2011Topics:2Posts:1293June 7, 2017 at 7:32 pm #1202114043
This is the most overrated show on TV since The West WingThePerksOfBeingAGriffParticipantJoined:Dec 31st, 2011Topics:63Posts:1618Cobalt BlueParticipantJoined:Apr 27th, 2016Topics:2Posts:151June 13, 2017 at 12:08 am #1202119233
Just binged this thread, after finally getting caught up with the live episodes. What a great series!! It’s so unique, so unforgiving, and has such powerful performances. My expectations were high but even so, they were exceeded. There have been some truly unbelievable episodes, and not a bad one in the bunch. ‘Late’ is the best TV episode of the season. I guess maybe some people were down on the episode centered on Luke, but even that one, yeah if I had to choose a low point I guess it’s that one, but, still, the period of ‘transition’ from normalcy to Gilead is quite interesting and it was good to see more of it.
It’s probably the best drama series of the year, Strahovski and Biedel are great in supporting roles, but the things I feel very strongly about are that Moss absolutely should win best actress, and Reed Morano should absolutely win for best directing.RileyParticipantJoined:Oct 11th, 2010Topics:81Posts:10972mafro987ParticipantJoined:Jan 23rd, 2014Topics:4Posts:714June 13, 2017 at 8:22 am #1202119579
The A.V. Club headline two weeks ago:
Get It Together, The Handmaid’s Tale
Your point being? That was a weak episode that followed a weak episode. Simply a short mid-season slump that picked up with ‘The Bridge’ and hopefully the finale.
(Unless you’ve seen the finale and you’re implying your dissatisfaction?)pulp50ParticipantJoined:Feb 13th, 2017Topics:21Posts:1717June 13, 2017 at 9:47 am #1202119661
AV Club is a nice place to go for a recap on an episode and maybe read some funny comments but using it as an actual source of anything is going to lose you some credibility. Half that review is a rant about how this show shouldn’t have episodes focusing on male characters.Cobalt BlueParticipantJoined:Apr 27th, 2016Topics:2Posts:151June 14, 2017 at 12:33 am #1202120551
Wow, what a finale – one incredibly powerful scene after another. And it’s a blowout tape for MossJune 14, 2017 at 1:54 am #1202120647
Brilliant fucking finale. Was this submitted in editing? let me check. It better be. Nope. It wasn’t. It should have been. This show should get noms for score and music supervision. Cinematography, costumes, and Production Design of course. This episode was beautiful.
Moss was fucking brilliant. I am so motherfucking torn if she or Carrie Coon should win my personal prize. This episode was such a tape. She was so good.
This is also Samira Wiley’s tape even though she is much more worthy for OITNB. Anne Dowd’s tape too and maybe even Strahovsky’s even though she is so unlikable in this episode.
I like how Canada is still hella liberal even in this world.
Just a brilliant epsode to end a brilliant season.

And to those who say Moss is too understated, that car scene is fucking life. EMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SashaParticipantJoined:Nov 24th, 2013Topics:15Posts:2680June 14, 2017 at 2:20 am #1202120663
I was wrong about her being too understated. She’s just right. Compared to her Foy is basically sleeping the whole season of The Crown. My TOP3 is basically Monaghan and then very close are tied Coon and Moss. If either one of them (or Sleepella) wins I’ll be more than satisfied. And next season they don’t have a chance. It’ll be Sleepella’s last season, Coon is out and Moss will have to wait another year because Clonella is getting her very deserving goodbye Emmy.jacob121ParticipantJoined:Mar 2nd, 2011Topics:26Posts:1110June 14, 2017 at 8:12 am #1202120914
Loved the finale. The scene at the stoning with the snow falling was absolutely beautiful. Agreed that it was an excellent episode for Dowd. Another knockout tape for Moss although I still think “Offred” is her best bet.
All of the events leading up to the ending were pretty much show inventions or twists on book events but the novel ended the same way that the episode did, with Offred getting into the black van, not knowing if she was on her way to freedom or punishment.ChlojackParticipantJoined:Mar 5th, 2014Topics:0Posts:34June 14, 2017 at 9:19 am #1202120944
Wow, incredible finale. Would be a perfect submission for Moss, Strahovski, and Dowd. I think Wiley was great too (I agree that OITNB was overall a stronger performance).ReisParticipantJoined:Jun 17th, 2014Topics:28Posts:760June 14, 2017 at 11:39 am #1202121050

What about Eva Green?
