Getting nominated? Alexis Bledel could win. I got flak for predicting Barb, but that category is sparse!

Did not know that this is directed by the cinematographer of Looking. OMG.

I didn’t want to jump on the bandwagon before we actually knew if the show would be any good or not, but after reading these reviews, I definitely think this will be the breakout show for hulu. It should at least get something although maybe not drama series in its first year. I haven’t read the book so I’m very excited for this show, not knowing anything about it.

Where is this assumption that Bledel will be eligible for guest coming from?

The book. Also, she was not billed as a regular in initial press releases. She could easily end up in supporting though.

How? I read the book again recently and her character seems far more prominent than would constitute guest status. If anything, I suspect Wiley may be closer to guest than supporting.

But also I think they are changing things up a bit from the book based on the reviews so who the fuck knows, I am just happy it is doing so well.

I put Moss at the top of my drama actress list right when the predictions center opened kind of as a lark but I am getting more and more tempted to just leave her there the rest of the season.

I am sure it will go down soon enough but metacritic is currently at 99 with 5 reviews. Pretty impressive.

Fienberg pretty much confirmed that we will not get to say “Emmy winner Claire Foy”, this year at least. I will be so happy if Moss finally wins. Now we just need to get Christina Hendrix on the path to winning an Emmy.

Also, it looks like Netflix is gonna win series, but how hilarious would it be if The handmaidens Tale won over The Crown and Stranger Things. Netflix would be so pissed that Hulu won before them omg

I’ll wait to make my own evaluation of Moss’ performance but I really hope someone beats Foy. I think she should is vastly overrated and probably shouldn’t even be nominated, and definitely should not win.

    Emmy sweep!

I have not read the book myself, despite growing up in Canada the son of bookstore owners. “Shame!”

I (moderately) agree with you. There are people who deserve a win much more than her.

I would love to see Ann Dowd or Samira Wiley get recognized (well I’d rather see Wiley get recognized for OITNB this year but I’ll take anything I can get) so I really do hope this can break out big time and be a huge hit. I also need something to knock This Is Us out of the drama series race.

How could anyone hate on Claire Foy? She’s talented, she’s modest, she’s funny, she’s smart. She’s everything that Jennifer Lawrence isn’t. Hate on that fucking bitch.

I’m shook. Pretty excited at the possibility of “Emmy nominee Alexis Bledel”

Foy is okay but there are so many better performances and she does not deserve to win over them. Taylor Schilling. Simone Missick. Katherine Langford. Michelle Monoghan. Kerri Russel. Jurnee Smollette Bell. Carrie Coon. Claire Danes. Christine Baranski. And now apparenly Elisabeth Moss

The only people I’d put over Foy or at the same level are Monaghan and Green. Langford is brilliant, she’s almost there for me. Danes is great as always. As for Smollett-Bell and Russell, I’ll wait when their respective seasons are over and then binge-watch them. And I don’t watch Luke Cage. Oh and you know I’m GD patron saint of category fraud? I’m watching The Good Fight and even though it was supposed to be Branski’s vehicle, she feels totally supporting and I wouldn’t mind if she actually submitted herself there. The whole show feels like ensemble. And wtf she doesn’t have any material? You do not treat such great actress as her like that.
